Up for sale is my 1971 Camaro Z28. Car was a rust free CA (built in CA and spent most of it's time there til 1999). It still retains all of it's orig. sheet metal & trim w/ one older professional repaint. Car was disassembled, stripped and resprayed the orig. placer gold w/ correct blk stripes. All the gaps on the hood, doors and trunk are as they were in 1971. Orig undercoating remains underneath. There are a few small bubbles that surfaced not long after it was painted on the lower quarters, but have not gotten any worse over the yrs. Orig. #'s matching motor was removed a few yrs. ago, rebuilt and has since been stored. The orig. shortblock is .30 over, balanced and blueprinted, forged pistons, orig. LT1 rods, cleavite bearings & ARP bolts. The current motor is a rebuilt 1969 350 block w/ the orig heads and intake from the #'s matching motor, 350/350 hydraulic cam which runs very strong. Ceramic coated headers lead into correct style Z28 exhaust. Trans is a period correct close ratio m21 (non #'s) and the rear has been upgraded to a 12 bolt (non #'s) 3.73 posi. Body bushings and frt suspension are all upgraded to polyurethane. New springs frt and rear. New period correct Goodyear polyglas f-60 tires. Orig. Z28 rims have been powder coated. Interior is mostly orig. & in excellent cond. Saddle cloth seats were redone at one pt. Tach and amp guage are not working. I have all orig documentation for the car. Orig window sticker, build sheet, owners manual, financing paperwork and protecto plate. I wanted a clean 2nd gen to resto mod, but decided this car was to orig and unmolested. Only 4 owners since new. Car is a driver, not a trailer queen. It has been on the Hot Rod Power Tour two times (2009 & 2011). Turn key and drive anywhere. Too much to list. Must see. This is a 43 yr old car & I have tried to be as accurate & honest as possible in the description. I encourage you to come & see the car as you will not be disappointed. This is NOT a clone, it's a very well documented real Z. Additional pics/info available upon request. "SERIOUS INQUIRIES/BIDDERS ONLY" |

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
