1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM! Numbers Matching 400 W/  Hurst 4 Speed Shifter! The Most Well Documented Trans Am
You'll Find! 100+  Photos Located Below!
These TA's just continue to give huge returns. They are by  far one of the hottest collector cars to pick up right
now. To find one of this  caliber, that is this well documented, that is like finding a needle in a  haystack.
It's possible but highly unlikely. For example, the gentleman who  originally purchased this TA, he went to great
lengths to insure he obtained  exactly what he wanted. In 1978, he took a pen to paper and wrote out every
single option he wanted in his Trans Am. Located below, you will find a photo of  his hand written proposal as
well as the factory build sheet, both matching one  another. The quality of  this car is phenomenal, now throw in
the abundance of paperwork, now you've got  a real pedigree collector car.
This is a factory Z-code car with its numbers  matching W72 400, Hurst shifted 4-speed, WS6 4-wheel disc
brakes, factory t-top,  power windows, power locks, cold air conditioning, working factory am-fm  8-track.
Refinished snowflake wheels. Stunning starlight black paint over a  never rusted body, with new Bandit gold
graphics. The car was Z-bart  rust-proofed when new. Excellent interior with new seats, door panels,  headliner,
etc. Documentation includes, hand written special order sheet, window  sticker, delivery checklist, Z-bart order
card, copy of original MSO and  registration, warranty book, tire pamphlet, space saver spare instructions, new
car brochure, dealer ordering and coloring guide, PHS papers and much more. This  car was never modified or
molested, the engine is original down to the exhaust  manifolds. No aftermarket parts, no custom stereo, no mag
wheels-original! The  car runs and drives excellent, and grabs attention everywhere it goes.
I encourage anyone who is interested, to fly in and check her  out. If you're unable to make it in, I'd advise
having it inspected. Some tips  for having it inspected:
Check with your local car club about having someone in  the area inspect it for you.
Hiring a third party inspection company.

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
