Up for auction is my beloved 2005 E55. The car was purchased from MB of Chicago after it was traded in by its original owner, so I am essentially the second owner. I am an MB enthusiast and drive the car daily. Service has been performed at various independent MB shops in the Chicago area.
The following work has been done to the car since I purchased it in April 2012 (most recent work listed first): Front Passenger Air Strut Front Lower Control Arms and Sway Bar Links 19" C63 style wheels with General G-Max AS03 All Season tires all around Alternator, alternator pulley, belts, coolant Front and Rear R1 Concepts drilled rotors with Akebono pads 2007-2009 style Steering wheel and Airbag Johnson CM30 supercharger pump Removed Secondary Cats and Resonators (stainless 2.75" straight pipes upto stock mufflers) Vehicle Specs: 197 Obsidian Black paint Charcoal interior Burled Walnut wood trim Keyless Go Bi-Xenon Active Headlamps with washers For those that don't know, these cars have 469HP, 516lb-ft torque and run 0-60 in about 4.3 secs. 2017 Aston Marin Lagonda could live on Mercedes M-Class platform
Tue, 29 Oct 2013A few weeks ago, we brought you news from the launch of the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante that the British brand, which is formally known as Aston Martin Lagonda, was still planning on going ahead with a Lagonda-badged crossover. Now comes word that that vehicle could very well be based on a Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
When the first Lagonda Concept debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, it sat on a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class platform, some four years before Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG deal was inked. And with that partnership, which will see Aston Martin gain access to AMG electrics and "bespoke, V8 powertrains," the opportunities for platform sharing are many.
Dr. Ulrich Bez, the boss of Aston Martin, told the UK's AutoCar, "I look at what Porsche is doing with the 911 as its core business and then it is able to do models like the Cayenne based on the Volkswagen Touareg. It is good business." We've said many times that we'll tolerate exotic CUVs and SUVs if it means keeping the beloved core models alive, which has been the case with Porsche. We see no reason Aston Martin wouldn't be able to do the same.
Dartz promises own 6x6 G-Class with golden shishas and a dining room
Mon, 25 Mar 2013So you didn't really think Dartz Motorz was going to let the limited-production, 544-horsepower Mercedes 6x6 G63 AMG go without a challenge, did you? Picking up the gauntlet as only Dartz can, the Russian dream-makers have come up with the Sahara G-eopard, supposedly a special request from a buyer to make one of the 'standard' six-wheelers "more opulent and insane."
That means the vehicle from the factory gets extended by about a foot (30 centimeters), coach doors in the rear, a "yacht floor" and air conditioning that runs on its own power source, Asanti 24-inch Gold Bullion wheels and a water dispenser with Russian diamonds, which the owner will need to fill the golden shishas (hookahs) in the portable smoking room. That's right, you heard the man: a portable smoking room. Where the occupants will retire when they're finished in the portable dining room. Of course.
