1965 Custom Cab Twin I Beam Truck on 2040-cars

US $7,500.00
Year:1965 Mileage:100000
Location:

Concord, California, United States

Concord, California, United States

I purchased this truck off ebay a little over a year ago and have done nothing but drive it and collect stuff to make it better. Its a California made truck, off the assembly line in San Jose, Ca. Someone has added a nice 1968 351 Cleveland and 2 speed automatic transmission (on the floor) from a mustang. I haven't touched it except to add a new battery and alternator. It runs good, I run around town with it on weekends, takes a couple of cranks to start but once started it runs smooth and doesn't smoke. It steers good, has power steering and power brakes, brakes good. This is the custom cab version with inset dash gauges, side tool box, etc. I was going to buy a harness for engine and redo it since it was originally a 6 cyl 6 volt system I'm guessing. The truck has an electric fan for radiator, I am including a brand new electric fan with truck, I found that the fan that's on it is back wards and pushes air forward, my plan was to install new fan with new radiator, or basically what I'm saying this truck is totally worth fixing up. It appears that the original color was red. here's what I purchased that will go with it: original 1965 mechanic manual (thick), spare battery (new), original in the box front grill with no damage (there are no after market grills for 65 ford only 1966 ford, production stopped in sept 1965 and the converted to 66 grills), new front bumper and all mounting hardware, new FORD emblems for just above grill, new hood ornament, original blinker lenses and bezels, new head lights and bezels, new door panels (black), new arm rests (black), the kick panels have speakers in them so I go two original panels that need to be painted and installed. There are many other items stored away in my garage, everything for it will be yours. Dual Exhaust appears to be new.

This truck is fully registered and insured to me, pink slip in hand, with my name on it. There will be no issues with sell. The guy I bought it from wasn't so honest about that! he also took the gas pedal and put stock one back on, so the one pictured (foot) isn't there. This engine has a very very small leak somewhere, never looked but its barely left a stain in my driveway. I have driven it from san leandro to concord many times to work and bought it in tracey ca, drove it home without issue. I'm getting married and need money to pay for it. I don't want lookie lou's, if your not serious buyer please don't contact me.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

Ford supports bid for Detroit Rallycross race with Motown-minded Fiesta ST vid

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

As Ford continues its cheerleading effort to help bring the 2014 Summer X Games to its hometown of Detroit, MI, it has released footage of its 2014 Fiesta ST Rallycross car on location at some of the city's well-known landmarks. This video appears to have been shot around the same time as the previous X Games Detroit video was made, but it focuses 100-percent on rally car action.
With Ford Racing driver Andreas Eriksson behind the wheel, this Fiesta ST lays down some serious rubber atop Detroit's Cobo Hall parking structure, at Belle Isle and around the Michigan Central Depot. Detroit isn't alone in the bid for a three-year X Games contract as Chicago, Austin and Charlotte are also hoping to play host. The winning host city is expected to be announced this summer. Scroll down for Ford's two-minute video showing the Fiesta ST Rallycrossing through the Motor City.

Leno talks racing with NASCAR racer Joey Logano

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno's Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he's been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There's no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it's like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.
Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it's like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it's like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
