it's a 1984 chevy silverado k10 with a 6 inch BDS full supension lift kit (front and rear leaf springs replaced (no blocks)), it has a completely overhauled 2000 model 5.3 vortec motor with all new sensors, electric fuel pump, new radiator and radiator hoses, less than 3000 miles since overhaul, newly rebuilt TH700R4 transmission with shift kit, a new rebuilt NP208 transfer case. the front and rear ends have been geared with 5.13 gears both have new seals and bearings also the rear has a cromoly pinion yoke. The rear-end has a 12 degree angle to make the drive shaft straight with a custom made rear CV drive shaft from Denny's Driveshafts with 1350 u-joints (the front is factory with 1310 u-joints). Truck has new tie-rod ends, WARN locking hubs, new front  wheel bearings and seals, one new rear wheel bearing, new steering box, power steering, front disk brakes with stainless steel braided brake hoses. It has power windows, and power locks but the windows are the only things that work. It has no AC (needs compressor and conversion kit for the 5.3 vortec) but heat works great. the interior is in good shape but needs new door panels, the seats have minor tears on driver side and the carpet is ripped on passenger side, the headliner has no tears, it has a new dash cover, all the gages work. It has dual tanks, both tanks are brand new along with the sending units, new interior tank selector switch. For the outside, the body is in good shape, its 95% rust free with a couple of small dents, the frame is in great shape, it has an all new true dual exhaust with turbo mufflers. The windshield is cracked. It has the rally 4x4 wheels (only 3 trim rings) on it now with Q (36-inch) buckshot mudders with about 50% tread left but I do have a set of black wheels to go along with the truck. I drive this truck to school daily. Will make for a great trail, hunting, or mudding truck. I reserve the right to sell this truck locally.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado tows in new configurator, microsite

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
