Awesome 1967 SS 468 cu in / 430 hp Chevelle SS Tribute Car with 350 Turbo Automatic Transmission, Bucket Seats and
Floor Shifter
We purchased this car out of Texas about two years ago and it was about 85% complete through a restoration. The
floor pans, truck pan and other body parts are laser straight and completely free of rust. All parts appear to be
the original body parts with the exception of a new Goodmark SS hood. All seams and body lines are straight and
align extremely well.
We completed the restoration and finished the car about a year ago. every detail of the car is SS with the
exception of the VIN number and even thought every detail is SS, the car is priced well under a VIN correct SS.
Just look below and see all the history and great features of this beautiful car.
This cool 1967 SS 468 Chevelle is a 136 car that has been meticulously built to look and be a SS big block car.
Naturally the car is not a numbers matching 1967 SS Chevelle, however this awesome car was originally built as a
Malibu sport coupe at the Atlanta Georgia GM factory and shipped West. It was originally produced with the exterior
Emerald Turquoise (paint code K - K) and Turquoise Imitation Leather interior (775-A)
The car was also originally equipped with a 327 cu in engine and power glide transmission. The car currently has a
new 454 engine, bored .060 over, pushing the cu in to 468. the car has a freshly built 350 Turbo transmission with
a mild shift kit and the original 10 bolt (non-posi-taction ) heavy duty rear end.
The car has undergone a complete ground up restoration but is not a frame off. The exterior color was changed to
its current beautiful Red color and the interior has been changed to an all black color with all components new
with the exception of the sun visors. The seats, door panels and 80/20 loop pile carpet are new and is of the same
high quality and original style as what was available in an SS Chevelle in 1967. Plus the car has a new set of
80/20 loop pile custom SS 454 floor mats
There is a AM/FM CD stereo with front and rear dual cone speakers and a under the dash antennae. The rear antennae
hole was welded up so there is no external antennae but one could be re-installed easily
The motor is fresh with less than 500 miles since the build, it runs very strong, starts well, idles good and
sounds awesome. The motor is bored .060 over and fitted with a set of Keith Black flat top pistons, (10.5 to 1
compression) with heavy duty GM rods. The crank was turned .010/.010, has all new bearing, a new HV oil pump, a
Mellen Competition Cam, Hydraulic lifters, new Timing Gears and Chain, new Cam Bearings, new Push Rods, Rockers
and gaskets. The heads are the large oval ports and were Dyna Fluxed, surfaced and fitted with new correct springs
for the Camshaft and all new valves.
The Turbo 350 transmission was sent to a professional Tran’s shop that specializes in Auto Transmissions and
rebuilt. It shifts and runs smooth with no noise of any kind.
The car is equipped with a new set of long tube headers, new twin Flow Master Mufflers, new aluminized head and
tail pipes, a 750 CFM double pumper Holley carburetor, an HEI electronic ignition/distributor, HEI wires, new water
pump, new starter, new torque converter new balancer.
This car runs strong, yet it rides, drives and handles great, the cooling system has a new 4 core radiator with
direct fan and factory style air shroud plus a new heater core that keeps the car running cool, even when cruising
the streets in the middle of a hot Southern Georgia summer.
As I stated above, this car has been restored from ground up but is not a frame off restoration, just about
everything on the car is either new or in good working condition.
The car is sitting on a new set of 4 15” X 7” Rally wheels with new Center Caps and Beauty Rings. The tires are
new raised white letter tires 60/15 series. There are new shocks all the way around, the original 3:36 10 bolt
non-posi-taction GM rear-end runs smooth and quite. It also has new tie rod ends, end link and front coil springs.
The Paint on the car is beautiful and is a good base coat / clear coat system. There are some minor road chips and
slight imperfections but from 2 feet away, it looks perfect all over. The body is very straight and all body lines
align very well. There is new glass all the way around the car with the exception of the rear glass, it looks to
be the original.
The car also has all new weather stripping and the doors, truck and hood close extremely well and have a good solid
sound when you close them.
The rear quarters still have the VIN numbers stamped in the trunk rail areas and the stock hood was replaced with a
new high quality SS hood. Other than that, all other body parts appear to be original and in excellent condition.
There are no visible signs of rust anywhere on the exterior of the car and all of the floor and trunk pans are
original and rust free. The car has a custom made console that fits the B & M shifter and all lights work well.
Included is a set of Auto Gauge gauges, oil, temp and volts, the volt meter is not hooked up but the wire to do so
is rolled up behind volt meter gauge, the cluster of three gauges are set to the lower bottom of the dash in the
center, out of the way but very visible.
The wipers and the heater motor are not working and the car is a factory Air car, but needs a few parts to get the
AC going. Everything for the AC is intact with the exception of the compressor, compressor mount brackets, hoses
and the evaporator that goes in front of the radiator.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
