1974 TRIUMPH TR6 / 2 PREVIOUS OWNERS / MINT / ALL RECORDS /CLN CA TITLE

The last of the traditional TR sports cars is a powerful, accessible collectible!!!  According to Hemmings Motor News and the Vintage Triumph Register:

"Although most cars require years of collective nostalgic reflection to earn collectible status, the Triumph TR6 was considered a modern classic throughout its entire 1969 to 1976 production run, a distinction that it still holds today. With its timeless styling, sturdy build, throaty six-cylinder power and moderate price tag, the TR6 is a great alternative to an MGC, a 240Z or even a BMW Z3, and it represents a hardy line of mass-produced British sports cars of an era gone by..."

HISTORY:

The TR6 is beloved of British sports car fans as the last of the traditional English roadsters. While it's possible to argue with the precise wording of that statement, the TR6 was certainly antique in many ways when it was introduced in late 1968. A narrow cockpit, separate body and chassis and a bouncy ride courtesy of its independent rear suspension made it seem in many ways to be advanced from the TR4 of 1962 or even the TR2 of 1953.

Karmann of Germany had done a masterful job of updating the TR4 body shell while actually changing very little. The 2.5 liter straight six while not a powerhouse in emission controlled twin carburetor form had plenty of torque and made some of the best sounds in sports cardom. TR6s are easy to maintain, good-looking, rugged and have easy parts availability. They're an ideal first collector car.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
