1973 Triumph Tr-6 | Tr6 *classic British Sports Car* on 2040-cars
Newton Center, Massachusetts, United States
This is the classic British sports car, that has been increasing in dramatic value over the years, but is still great to drive. As all British classics have gone up in value ( XKE, Austin Healy, Aston Martin) this too shall be going up. As you can see on ebay and the car auctions, these cars in restored condition are going for significant dollars.
This car was purchase about a year ago, and I have driven it a little. It has a 6 cylinder engine. Previously owned by a triumph/British Car enthusiast. It has about 78K miles, runs well, shifts great, has a new master cylinder, and is extremely fun to drive. It has been repainted some time ago, has some minor rust bubbles, and two rust spots that need attention. One is the driver's rocker panel area, and the other is left tail light. See pictures for details. Frame is solid and straight as an arrow. Some surface rust but no rot or cancer on the frame. No rust on floor boards or base of trunk. The radiator has a pin-hole leak, that just appeared this past week. This needs to be addressed. I have purchased two rocker panels for the car, but only the driver's side needs to be replaced. The car has a nice top, there is some sap stains, but no tears or rips. Tan interior is in decent shape, I believe it is all original but it has held up well. Seat's are loosing some of the foam material. Radio works but not the greatest and is aftermarket. Decent carpets and mats. nice interior panels, good glass, and good lens. These are all original parts, so keep in mind they are over 40 years old and will have normal wear and tear. The tires are the famous red lines, and are in good shape, including the spare tire. Comes with original jack and tire iron. The car will need some attention regarding the lights. New bulb's were put into the back lights, but didn't fix the issue, so I believe it is a ground wire problem. Horn works. Like many of these British sports cars, they require some tinkering. That is part of the joy of having these cars. This car has been store indoors for much of its life. I am looking to move the car, for my son is going off to college and I need the money for tuition. This is a car that I will miss. One day it is going to be worth a lot of money, but right now I am sadly saying good bye to it. We recently have put in a fuel filter, and repaired the fuel line. It also has a new master cylinder, and it has a newer battery. At some point prior to my ownership, the previous owner replaced the raditor hoses, upper and lower, etc. The car handles very well both on local streets and the highway. No problems braking, no problem shifting, does not burn oil, no drips. I am reporting everything, both good and bad that I am aware of. However, since I am not a mechanic ( I am actually a Clinical Social Worker) you should please have your person go over the car. I operate with honesty, but I always want people to check it out first. Please be aware that Richard Nixon was in the Whtie House when the car came out of the factory. So, you should come or send your mechanic to check it out. I hope I have been clear about the car. Clean title in hand. Please contact with any questions or if you would like to come see it. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but we will be as helpful as possible with your shipping company. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
