Don`t Make The Trip

I was referred to Lighthouse Toyota by TrueCar as a dealer that is in their pricing discount plan. I exchanged several emails with a salesman and was very impressed with him trying to find the vehicle I wanted. Finally he located one and needed me to drive down from Jax to have my trade in appraised. He said if we didn`t make a deal when I drove down, he`d buy me a tank of gas. I was concerned they may not be... view more able to get this vehicle he had located and he said if he couldn`t there were a couple more he`d located they could work on getting. So I took time off work, drove down to St. Augustine. They appraised my trade in and we were in agreement on the price. So far so good. Then the manager informs me they can`t get the car they had identified but there was another one he could find out about the next day and would let me know. At this point my salesman had completely disappeared. I drove home. By the way no free tank of gas. The next day I heard nothing. Two days later I sent a message to the salesman asking status and heard nothing. To this day, three weeks later, I have heard nothing. I`m a well qualified buyer, with a trade in worth 50% of the new car price and I had the title of the trade in my hand. Don`t make the trip.
