1997 Jaguar Xj6 Base Sedan 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Lodi, California, United States
Hello,
Selling the car due to my wifes back issues she has a very hard time getting in and out of the car. Very clean inside and out. No interior issues none. no sagging-rips-tears-burns-stitching issues none. left front floor mat is missing thats it. I was told by the man I bought the car from it was keyed in mid 2005 and was repainted the quality of the job was very good appears to be base coat clear coat . No body damage or poor repairs can be seen only a few very very minor chips etc. The car runs very well and transmission shifts very well firm and quickly. Car has all factory power options and a aftermarket single cd am fm player. Factory speakers. Like new tires with recent alignment drives very well and smooth as glass. All power features work and ac is nice and cold. Brakes work well, serviced regularly and always garaged. Recent battery replacement and all most all ignition coils have been replaced. I have two new extra ignition coils that will go with the car. Here are the only flaws-motor has a very small oil leak (i bought it that way) coming from what appears the oil pan approximate area rt side front very minimal. Has no effect on the car or how it runs or oil height. The factory clock works but the numbers are so light I cant read it. The speedo is also light but can be seen. The last little issue is that the inside trunk release doesn't work. I use the key works great. The car drives and runs well I have never been stranded. Car looks great with factory wheels. Paint and interior are excellent as you can see by the photos. Car is being sold AS IS! I will help load if transported. I will supply a Calif smog certificate to a California buyer only!!, for additional $70.00 payable by US postal money order or cashiers check. I reserve the right to end auction any time. If a buyer backs out I will NOT refund the deposit!!! Thanks for looking I have described to the best of my ability. |

Jaguar could yet offer more hardcore F-Type R-S
Mon, 25 Nov 2013Jaguar pulled a fast one on us all when it unexpectedly shoehorned all 550 horsepower of the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the XKR-S into the new F-Type Coupe to supersede the existing V8 S model with the F-Type R. But that's just the beginning, according to the latest intel coming from the UK.
According to Autocar, in speaking to Jaguar design director Ian Callum during the coupe's unveiling at the LA Auto Show, the British automaker could yet offer R-S and R-S GT versions of the F-Type. Just what mechanical changes those would bring when the F-Type R already packs the company's top engine remains to be seen, but given that the same engine also powers the flagship XJR performance saloon, we could envision Jaguar developing an even more powerful version for R-S versions of the little coupe and big sedan.
The GT version, meanwhile, would likely offer more extreme aero and a lighter form for the truly performance-obsessed. Considering that the new top-of-the-line F-Type is already pushing the hundred-grand mark, you can bet any R-S and R-S GT version would approach double the base F-Type's $65k sticker price.
Jaguar C-X17 rides high into Frankfurt
Tue, 10 Sep 2013After enviously watching its competitors rake in piles of crossover-shaped dollars for years, Jaguar is poised to get into the game with a production model based on this C-X17 concept. While the British brand hasn't officially confirmed it will sell a utility vehicle - indeed, brand fans and industry watchers have wondered whether the Leaping Cat even need to get into the game considering its corporate cousins at Land Rover - we would be dumbfounded if it didn't happen in short order.
We've always been concerned that Jaguar's styling language wouldn't translate well to a high-riding shape, but here at its Frankfurt Motor Show debut, the C-X17 comes off as quite handsome (if predictable) in the metal. The same couldn't always be said of Jag's styling DNA, but newer models beginning with the XF and the XJ have introduced design elements like a larger, more vertical grille that suit the C-X17's form factor exceedingly well. Even the rear end successfully borrows its taillamp design from the glorious new F-Type Roadster.
Underneath the concept's two-box shape is a new aluminum unibody that Jag says it is poised to employ on its next-generation models, including the long-expected midsize sedan coming to North America in 2016. Jaguar has long been a leader in aluminum chassis development even as it has struggled to take weight out of some of its vehicles (the F-Type, for instance, isn't exactly lightweight). Thus far, Jaguar isn't talking powertrains other than to say it will employ a new generation of gas and diesel engines.
Jaguar F-Type coupe to cost more than convertible?
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Jaguar may price the much-rumored F-Type Coupe above the F-Type Convertible, if a report from Australia's Drive is to be believed. What makes Jag think that such a pricing strategy would work? Porsche. Take a look at the German manufacturer's consumer site, and you'll notice that the Boxster is less expensive than the Cayman, despite being essentially the same car.
It's a fair point, and a price premium does a good job of emphasizing the sporting chops of the coupe over the open-air experience that normally entitles convertibles to higher MSRPs. It's unclear just how closely Jaguar will follow Porsche's example, though.
Both the Cayman and Cayman S boast an extra ten horsepower over a Boxster or Boxster S, and while this bump in grunt is negligible in every situation but an argument over which is "best," it isn't something to be ignored in the F-Type, particularly as cranking more power out of its supercharged engines should be a rather simple matter.
