1985 Dodge Ram Prospector W150 on 2040-cars
Lincoln, Nebraska, United States
NO RESERVE! Up for auction is my 1985 Dodge Ram Prospector 4x4. Odometer says 60,000 Miles. I do not know if that 60,000 or 160,000 Has the original 318 engine and 3 speed automatic transmission, both of which function perfectly with no issues. 4 wheel drive works flawlessly. There is some rust above the back wheels, and a bit of a dent on the front passenger fender. I bought this truck as a project and have put alot of time and money into it. It is now time to pass it along to someone who can enjoy it as much as I have. This is not a clunker, so winning bidder can easily drive it home, regardless of distance, and skip the trailer. EVERYTHING but the AC works, including the cruise. Rear tires have very good tread, front tires are good tread Sliding rear window Manual lockouts Sony CD Player The tool box is included and locks with key Fresh oil change Below is a list of the things that I can remember that have been done to the truck in the past year: New upper and lower ball joints on the front left and right sides New tie rod ends New front rotors, calipers, and brake pads New front bearings New rear brake pads New dual exhaust New spark plugs and wires New distributor, rotor, and cap Tuned carburetor New thermostat New windshield wipers New air filter New breather cap New PCV valve New shocks all the way around Alignment New belts New front axle u-joints New front drive shaft u-joints New rear drive shaft u-joints New bed liner New taillight assemblies New manual choke cable All new vacuum lines under the hood New fan switch New head light switch This is sold AS IS, and the sale will be final. Dodge to reveal Hellcat-powered Challenger in Detroit?
Fri, 10 Jan 2014On top of all the other performance car debuts slated for next week's Detroit Auto Show, we might be able to add one more to the list - the new, supercharged Hellcat V8 from Chrysler. According to new reports, the rumored 640-horsepower mill is likely to cross the Motor City stage in the engine bay of a Dodge Challenger.
As AllPar points out, though, there may be more news than just the fire-breathing engine. While we've seen spy photos of the Hellcat testing under the hood of the current Challenger, there's a very fair chance that it won't arrive until the muscle car is refreshed later this year. The question now is whether that refresh will be shown off alongside the new engine in Detroit, or if it'll be saved, perhaps for the New York Auto Show.
Other details dug up by AllPar include potential transmissions for the supercharged engine - the Mopar-minded site is expecting an eight-speed automatic or a Tremec six-speed manual. Prices, meanwhile, could be in the same elevated range as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, at $70,000 to $80,000.
Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.
Junkyard Gem: 1976 Dodge D100, United States Army Edition
Sat, Jan 26 2019Members of the United States military have been driving Dodge trucks since the Army bought its first Dodge Brothers ambulance in 1917, and plenty of third-generation D-series pickups ended up in Army service during the mid-1970s. Most of these were 3/4-ton W200s and D200s (designated as M880s), but today's Junkyard Gem is a 1/2-ton D100 CARGO PICKUP W/CAB, found in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Eventually, the Army auctions off old vehicles, and that happened to this battered D100 Custom at some point. This truck appears to have started life with Navy gray paint, which was painted over in Army-grade olive drab. Perhaps there was some vehicle-shuffling done by the Pentagon. The most recent layer of stickers shows that this truck's final military job was for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command. Power came from the legendary Chrysler Slant-6, in this case the 225-cubic-inch version rated at 105 horsepower. Like most fleet vehicles of the last 50 or so years, it has an automatic transmission. You couldn't expect every soldier to be able to work a three-pedal truck, not even way back in 1976. The Rust Monster has taken a few bites out of this truck, enough that its resale value converged with the current price of scrap vehicles. This content is hosted by a third party.
