This is my personal 1965
Chevrolet Corvair Monza Super Sport. Yah, I know, there were no Corvair
Super Sports. This is a one of a kind that I produced. The Super
Sport strips were copied off a 1975 El Camino Super Sport by a local graphic
arts company. I added the additional 2 taillights to complete the
illusion. All tail light lens and trim rings are NOS parts. There are
additional SS badges on the trunk lid and glove compartment door.
This car was repainted
in 2003 before I bought it so I don't know what is under the paint but it sure
looks good. I have replaced almost every piece of stainless steel trim on
this car with NOS or reproduction pieces. I had the bumpers
re-chromed.
The car has a new
battery, cables, starter, alternator, distributer cap, electronic ignition,
fuel pump, oil pressure sender, plugs, plug wires, carbs, aftermarket chrome
air cleaners, fan belt (with spare),
I put reconditioned 14" Oldsmobile 442 wheels with new center caps and trim
rings on the car. The tires are double red line from Coker Tire. I
have put an ENTIRE new interior in the car with center console and new seat
belts. I did build a rear speaker enclosure with two 6 x 9 speakers but
have not hooked it up to any radio yet. I was going to put a modern radio
under the passenger seat because I did not want to replace the working factory
AM radio. The factory clock in the car does work but it decides when it's
going to do so! The windshield washers do not work. I have
added a lock to the engine compartment as these cars never had locking engine
compartment lids.
There are NO leaks from
this car other than a very minor occasional drip from the automatic transmission
shift linkage 0-ring. The transmission fluid has been changed. The
car has Mobile One 10w-30 oil in it. There are no squeaks or rattles in this car - it is solid.
The interior of the
trunk looks brand new. The underside of the trunk and engine compartment
lids look perfect. There is a brand NEW spare tire in the trunk.
The Corvair currently has dual Harley Davidson Sportster mufflers on it so it
has a "cackle"!
This car currently has
54,000+ miles on it that are supposedly original but I have no way of proving
that fact. It was a one owner car when I bought it 5 years ago. The
car spent its entire life in Atlanta, GA. I purchased it from the estate
of the lady that bought it new. I have the original dealer window sticker and purchase
paperwork to go with the car. She traded two Packards in on the car in
1965!
This car was at the
national Corvair meet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 2010 and got rave reviews from
everyone that saw it.
I have invested over
$15,000 in the restoration of this Corvair but am asking only $5995.00 because: The car has been garaged under a car cover since
last fall when we were out for an ice cream cone drive. The engine developed a knock on the way home
so it has a problem that needs repair. I currently would not attempt to drive it.
The winning bidder will
have to PayPal a non-refundable $500 deposit immediately upon purchasing the
car. This auction can be canceled at anytime as the car is also
advertised locally and on Craig’s List. I have the clear Iowa title in my
hands! Transaction types allowed are bank-to-bank wire transfers, US
Postal Money Order, PayPal, or Cash. Cashier's checks and money orders
are too easily counterfeited - Sorry!

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
