Kingston Springs, Tennessee, United States

I HAVE A COMPLETE 1966 CORVAIR CORSA CONVERTIBLE. THIS IS THE BEST AND LAST YEAR FOR THE HIGHER PERFORMANCE CORVAIR CORSA WITH LESS THAN 3500 OF THESE  MADE (OVER 8000 IN 1965). IN 1965 GM CHANGED THE BODY STYLE TO A MORE SLIMMER LOWER PROFILE CAR. IN 1966 MADE MORE IMPROVMENTS WITH A STRONGER TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL THAT THEY KEPT UNTIL THE END OF THE CORVAIR IN 1969. AFTER 1966 YOU COULD GET THE 140 HP BUT NOT IN THE CORSA OPTION WITH FACTORY TACH AND GAUGE SETUP OR THE 180HP TURBO. THIS CAR HAS THE FACTORY RB CODE 140HP ENGINE AND THE CORRECT 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION. ALL CARBURETORS ARE COMPLETE INCLUDING LINKAGE AND FUEL LINES.THIS CAR FROM WHAT I CAN TELL IS UNMOLESTED. ALTHOUGH THE COLOR ON THE CAR IS NOT CORRECT IT WAS ORIGINALY PAINT CODE N MADERIA MAROON METALLIC. IT HAS ALL THE ORIGINAL, NICE, NOT NEW BLACK INTERIOR, NO CRACKS IN DASH PAD, FACTORY GUAGES AND FACTORY AM RADIO. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN WHEN THE BRAKES WENT OUT SO THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS. ENGINE TURNS, I WOULD NOT TRY TO START IT WITHOUT DOING SOME WORK FIRST( OIL CHANGE, CARB REBUILDS). AS I SAID THE CAR IS 100% COMPLETE NEVER CUT ON OR HACKED UP. ALL SIDE GLASS WORKS PROPERLY, DOORS OPEN AND SHUT. THIS CAR IS VERY RUSTY WOULD NEED REPAIR OR REBODY. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED WITH CORVAIRS SINCE 1987 AND HAVE OTHER BODIES AND PARTS. I WANT TO BE CLEAR WONT DRIVE YOU HOME AND NEEDS COMPLETE RESTORING. NO TEXTS OR TRADES, CALLS ONLY. THE WHEELS ON THE CAR ARE NOT THE ONES THAT GO WITH THE CAR I HAVE ORIGINAL 13" WHEELS THAT WILL GO ON THE CAR  (SEE PICTURE) I AM LISTING THS CAR FOR SOMEONE ELSE SO PLEASE CALL 615-243-4711 FOR ALL QUESTIONS

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
