1974 Triumph TR-6 with overdrive.  Ground up restoration of original San Diego car. Built to fast road/rally spec with Triumph factory type rally parts.  This is the nicest TR-6 in North America with a known history.  I have owned this car since 1994 and it is a completely updated and improved car with modifications by Racetorations in England and Good Performance in the U.S. This vehicle has travelled approximately 1500 miles since in my possession.  Over 250 hours have been spent on the bodywork and undercarriage alone.  All original floors, sills, and removable outer and inner panels.  Both doors, hood, trunk, and outer fenders were removed, stripped and painted off the car inside and out.  Body resealed and complete new rubbers and gaskets.  Frame was stripped and refinished in semi-gloss Rustoleum.  Undercarriage completely detailed.  All body cavities treated with Waxoyl.  No undercoat to cover bodges on this car.  No rust through or rot ever.  All possible frame strengthening mods performed per Triumph factory competition recommendations.  Front suspension rebuilt with all N.O.S. parts including control arms and powdercoated.  Polybushes with Good Performance strengthened axle and bearing spacer kit, alloy wheel hubs, vented discs with Wilwood calipers and Koni shocks.  Rear end with Good Performance Nissan powerlock diff conversion 3.7 ratio, heavy duty cv joints and Cosworth type rear hubs, Alfin drums, adjustable trailing arm kit, Nylatron bushes and Racetoration tube shock conversion kit with adjustable  Bilstein shocks mounted to frame not body.  Heavy duty and lowered springs – heavy duty front and rear anti-roll bars by Racetorations.  Alloy gas tank, padded roll bar and interior completely redone to original pattern but in leather and Wilton carpet.  Convertible top is m ohair with zip out rear window by Prestige Auto in England. Updated gloss walnut dash, with Smiths mechanical Cobra type gauges and original period Les Leston wheel NOS Raydot fog lights, NOS Marchall driving lights and NOS Wingard spot light. NOS Alexander rearview mirrors.  Engine has been built by Good Performance with a 9.5-1 compression, cam bearings, head parted with special valves, roller rockers, fast road cams, Kent lifters, and tubular pushrods, MSD ignition, ATI damper kit, triple Strombergs and ram air box, Holly electric fuel pump and regulater, Powermaster alternater.  Balanced and blueprinted engine dynos 172 h.p. at 6,000rpm.

Radiator with heavy duty core, Kenlowe auxiliary fan in front of rad. Stainless steel front and rear radiator shrouds.  Oil cooler with S.S. braided lines to oil filter housing block.  Heavy duty TRF clutch assembly with Good Parts roller bearing release modification Racetorations race quality lay shaft and synchro rings.  Heavy duty roller bearings on main and lay shafts.  Overdrive works perfectly.  Minilite type spline drive knock off wheels including spare.  H rated tires are almost new.  Vehicle comes with a thick 3 ring binder with all receipts, bills, etc.  This car is the best and would cost $50-70,000 to duplicate plus a donor car.  The big difference is that this was a nice solid California car that drove well before the restoration.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
