1981 Porsche 928 Euro 5-speed on 2040-cars

US $9,500.00
Year:1981 Mileage:105000
Location:

1981 928 Euro 5 speed w/LSD.  Ebay does not recognize the Euro VIN.  This is a WPOZZZ designation.  I will be happy to provide full VIN to any interested parties.  Great condition.  Receipts dating back to the 90's.  This is a Euro spec car.   Imported into Texas and then sold to an owner in California.  If I understand correctly, they could not pass emissions so ended up parking the car for almost 10 years.  It was sold to a gentleman in Georgia who did a fantastic job bringing it back to life.  Complete electrical and fuel system refresh.  Has full engine service including timing belt and water pump in the past 3k miles.  Interior in great condition except the dash does have a couple of cracks.  Unfortunately, this a very common occurrence with these cars.  Look closely at the interior pics.   If you have any questions, please email or call 205-243-8304.

The car is for sale locally and has a "Buy Now" price  so I reserve the right to pull the listing at any time.  This car is located in Alabama.  Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping.

Porsche picks Maria Sharapova as brand ambassador

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

Russian-born tennis superstar Maria Sharapova has just inked a three-year deal with Porsche to be its brand ambassador, a position that will put her on a global campaign for the German automaker. The 26-year-old athlete isn't new to the role - she previously signed a similar three-year deal with Land Rover in 2006.
"Maria Sharapova is an exceptional athlete. She combines top performance in her sports with elegance and power. These are precisely the qualities that are embroiled in our sports cars," explained Matthias Mueller, CEO of Porsche AG, during the announcement. "Her profile and charisma are an ideal fit for Porsche. She is also highly respected around the world and enjoys an outstanding reputation," he added.
Some consider Porsche's choice of a female tennis player as its ambassador interesting, if not surprising. The automaker has traditionally marketed its vehicles with a masculine edge - Sharapova and the sport of tennis position the brand in a different light - likely an intentional decision. Do you think Porsche's choice was a good one? If not, who would you choose as its global ambassador?

Porsche Cayenne spied unconstrained by camouflage

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

Meet the facelifted Porsche Cayenne. Our eagle-eyed spy shooters captured this example of Porsche's freshened SUV virtually devoid of camo, giving us our clearest look yet at what the eventual mid-cycle work will do to the strong-selling Cayenne.
The overall changes do, indeed, look minor, with a reprofiled intake being the most obvious item. The headlights are still covered, so we don't know what kind of jeweling has been done, but the shape does appear identical to the current model. Overall, the changes appear totally in line with a mid-cycle refresh.
As we explained previously, a plug-in Cayenne is on the way. It will join a crop of engines that is likely to be similar to what's on offer today, with naturally aspirated, turbocharged, hybrid and diesel variants released over time.

Meet the main man behind the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

We have yet to catch our breath from our first drive of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3, but if you're still not sold on the fact that this track-ready 911 is only offered with a PDK transmission, then you should take it up with Andreas Preuninger. Preuninger is the guy who led the team responsible for the latest GT3. Porsche has released a video giving a little backstory of what went into the development of the car, which had as its goal the creation of a pure, rewarding 911 driving experience.
The video captures the sights and sounds of the GT3 perfectly. Perhaps the best part is listening to Preuninger describe one of the defining moments that resulted in replacing the GT3's manual gearbox with the PDK. We don't want to ruin the video for you, so scroll down to check it out for yourself.
