1973 Porsche 914 1.7 Appearance Package on 2040-cars

Year:1973 Mileage:70000
Location:

Sidney, British Columbia, Canada

Sidney, British Columbia, Canada

I strongly suggest asking lots of questions. I will take whatever photos that you require.

As an overview, I am including a number of photographs and descriptions in this auction as well.  The best thing about this 914 is that, with its California origins, it is virtually rust free. There is no rust in the hellhole, battery tray or rockers. Older refinish in the original signal orange code # L20E. Paint is still shiny with no chips or scratches, just a bit old but shows well. . Where parts have been replaced, OEM Porsche parts were used as possible from Stoddard or the Porsche dealer. The odometer reading of 69,593 is correct and represents what I believe are original miles.

This Porsche starts easily and runs well. It has what I believe are original numbers matching 1.7 and factory fuel injection that performs flawlessly. All hoses have been replaced with original braded cloth style and a recent tune-up ensures the car starts and runs perfectly, no excuses, no smoke, no noises. Handling is exceptional, steers straight and stops in a straight line. Brakes and calipers have been serviced and replaced as needed.

Chrome bumpers are dent and scratch free. Included with the car is most of the original tool kit, spare tire and jack as . . Fuchs rims are very nice with no curbing or scrapes. The previous owner sprayed a cheap undercoating on the bottom floor pan years ago, I removed some of it with solvent to expose the original signal orange put there by the factory. Although this is a DIY job it probably saved the underside from corrosion and can be removed with minor but messy effort.

The interior is almost perfect, no dash cracks, seats and panels have no rips, tears or stains. No marks in any of the glass, has the rear window defog option. Windows crank up and down smoothly. Targa top fits tight and is water proof, seals are in good condition.

Porsche exec confirms Macan Diesel for US

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

The idea of a diesel-powered Porsche is the sort of thing that sounds really, really weird... until you actually drive it. The result of sticking glow plugs under the hood of Stuttgart's finest, though, is a vehicle that's nearly as entertaining as a gas-powered model but with much more torque and better fuel economy. Considering that, we think it's absolutely splendid news that following previous reports, Porsche has now confirmed a diesel-powered Macan for the US market.
"We are now busy with the development and the engineering," Andre Oosthuizen, Porsche's North American marketing VP, told Automotive News. "I can confirm that V6 diesel offering with about 245 horsepower."
Yep, that's the same 3.0-liter V6 found, most notably, in the CUV's Audi Q5 platform-mate as well as a plethora of other Volkswagen Group vehicles, both in the US and abroad. Stuttgart already offers the 3.0-liter oil-burner in the Euro-spec crossover, where it churns out 258 hp and 427 pound-feet of torque.

Porsche celebrates Le Mans return with Martini edition 911

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

If we've said it once, we've said it a hundred times - but we'll gladly say it again: there are few racing liveries as iconic as Martini. And while those stripes have adorned countless Lancia and Ford rally cars, grand prix racers (like the latest Williams) and even speedboats, they remain inexorably tied to Porsche. Fortunately that point is not lost on Porsche itself, which has lately put them on its own 918 Spyder, race-spec 911 and all manner of merchandise. And this is the latest.
To celebrate its return to Le Mans this year, Porsche Exclusive is offering this special Martini Racing Edition. It's based on the 911 Carrera S, which means the more potent 3.8-liter flat six with 400 horsepower, but upgrades, as you might have guessed, with a whole mess of Martini Racing stripes and logos, along with the Aerokit Cup front and rear spoilers. The badges and stripes abound inside as well, where you'll also find such optional extras as the Porsche Communication Management system, Bose audio and black leather electric sport seats.
Porsche is offering the 911 Carrera S Martini Racing Edition in either white or black, but unfortunately not in our market - just in Europe, China and Latin America. Those who miss out will (in certain markets anyway) be able to order the decal set separately though. Feel free to read more in the press release below.

eBay Find of the Day: Your choice of new, unregistered mid-2000s supercars

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

If you didn't quite find what you were hoping to see under the tree this year, maybe it's about time you buy yourself something nice. Something like an unregistered 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car has never been titled and has just 83 miles on the odometer. With one owner since new, the Carrera GT is likely to be as nice an example as you're likely to find outside of a museum. Porsche only built 340 of these machines back in 2005, and with a 610 horsepower V10 kicking at your spine, you can lap Santa's sleigh next year. Currently, the Carrera GT has a buy it now price of $457,325 with around six days left on the auction.
Not flashy enough for your tastes? Stroll on down to West Hollywood and you'll find a similarly untitled 2004 Ferrari Enzo up for grabs with a sticker of $1.8 million. Technically a Euro-spec car, the Enzo isn't legal to operate on US roads, but could be modified to satisfy Uncle Sam with a little effort. The seller calls this car the "last brand-new Enzo in existence" and with 175 miles on the clock, that may be a true statement. You can head over to eBay Motors for a closer look if you're feeling spendy.
