I am selling this car for my Father. He found this car in a barn and was told it had set there since 2000, The car had been torn apart to be redone but owner lost interest. My father bought the car in 2011 and restored it, He has develop health issues that is forcing him to sell. The car runs strong and starts very nice even in cold weather, The motor is a 1976 455 ho PONTIAC. Crate motor (Previous owner had purchased). Holley 4 barrel carb. And does not use oil or smoke. As you can tell by the photos the engine looks stock and factory. There is no jury rigging to this car. It has power steering, power brakes, cold air conditioning, Postreaction, 4 wheel disc brakes, Factory map lights, CB but it is missing, Factory t top covers, factory wheels, air ram, Power radio antenna, electric trunk and door locks, Cruise control is there but is not hooked up. , My father was a mechanic for most of his life and has restored cars for years. The car can be driven anywhere but will need new tires due to they are the ones on it when it was stored and have dry cracks. They have good tread. They do not leak air, they are just old. The dash pad is cracking and needs replaced to finish the car. They car had no rust to repair and never gets taken out into bad weather. The mileage is unknown due to the dash had been taken out but was with the car, but by looking at the underneath side it is apparent the car has low mileage. All weather striping has been replaced on doors, t tops and trunk. Factory upholstery material was used on seats new carpet. All questions will go through me but I will ask him, The car is in Neosho MO. Pick up will be your responsibility. The car is stored inside,  My father will be there for pick up and title signing. The car is sold as is, no warranty, The motor is very strong and not recommended for new drivers.

NOTE; Upholstery on seats is factory, only the drivers side seat was repaired with factory material and engine IS a 1972 NOT A 1976, Photos of the engine will be posted as soon as my father can get them to me. Today I hope.  Sorry the car is not cleaned.  He is not able to clean it at this time so photos show some dirt in Interior. It will need detailed. Car is only driven locally and to a few cruise nights,

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.
