very very solid 1991 trans am convertible. i believe it may of been a texas car then brought here to florida. i have a clean florida title. car was sitting for years so i put a new fuel pump and injectors in it and it runs like a champ. everything seems to be working. undercarriage looks to be almost brand new. when i dropped the tank to do the fuel pump every bolt came right out. there is barely any surface rust under the car. around windshield is the same no rust at all. this is the most solid vert ive seen. this car runs and drives great but i can not guarantee it to make it on a long trip. i have not changed any rubber under the hood but it looks to be in great shape. tires look brand new but have dry rott on the side.

the good. ice cold ac. looks to be original paint except for hood.  all power options. headlights work great up and down. power antenna still works. mirror works locks work. drivers window works but switch is bad. i havnt tested pass window. gauges work. seats work. this car is mechanically sound. runs and drives good but i have not put the car on a long trip, only driven around the neighborhood.

the bad. needs top fabric. needs carpet. needs back seat redone where sun has cracked leather. it could use a paint job but it isnt terrible. also needs new power window switches.

i will not sell this car any cheaper then starting bid. and no reserve so bid to win. i purchased this car with the intentions to restore it but i have to many projects. if it dosnt sell i will put it away and get to it later on.

this car is a trans am. the hood was shot as you can see in some pics it has a trans am hood on it. i purchased a white firebird hood to put on it just so it would look good driving around. the trans am hood had a lot of weight in the center and it was unfixable but i do still have the 4 vents from the orig hood.

this car runs and idles great. does not overheat. no smoke or knocking at all. it runs like a brand new engine. also has a newer exhaust with a flowmaster muffler. sounds great. still has cat and all emisions so it should be ok in any state.

car is for sale locally and i reserve the right to end auction early

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Sun, 05 Oct 2014

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
