This is an original matching numbers original motor T/A 6.6 litre 400 "Z" code trans am with a WS6 4 wheel disc brake option with mostly original paint finished in black with tan custom interior . It runs and drives well . The body is an all original panel car with original rear quarter panels and floors and trunk . The car needs paint as it is tired . The doors were pretty dinged up and were painted as well as the rear deck and lower rear bumper cover from fade/chips . The rest of the car has original paint and all original decals and as stated needs paint . There is no substantial rust or rot , present of past . The lower front fenders are very solid and original as is the whole car . The trunk is all original and very solid , no attempts to paint with trunk spatter paint , nothing to hide just a very solid original truck with original inflator bottle and spare as well as the jack and mat . The lower rear quarters are solid and original not patched , floors are solid as well . The interior is a factory custom interior and some repairs have been made throughout the years , newer carpets , correct original perforated headliner , new visors , and bottom or front seats have been replaced . The dash has a crack in it , an aftermarket radio and speakers ( circa 80's shaft style ) and the rest of the  interior is a clean original . The original motor was rebuilt and runs very well ( I can not believe they painted the original chrome valve covers ) , a full exhaust system was done at the time with headers to original style tips true dual exhaust . The A/C has been removed but might be able to find original parts/compressor prior to end of auction . Wheels are the original WS6 8inch honeycomb gold wheels and are in good shape , car has the real WS6 package with wheels , suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes . Overall car looks good , drives well and is a great driver as is or restore later .The car needs some minor tinkering but is a good car . The speedometer cable is chewed up where it goes into the transmission and needs to be replaced . The wipers , horn , all lights , gauges all work including tach, oil amps, fuel , temp and clock . I have cars in great shape asking a lot of money and cars in a lot worse shape as same I m asking .  This is not a Y84 car although it is an original black/gold .Very fair reserve is set @ $11700 . I will also be listing two other trans am's as well , a 75 with 4 speed and a 79 solar gold automatic . I will have one picture of each for viewing pleasure . I can be reached at 516-467-6890

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
