2002 Pontiac Sunfire Gt Coupe 2-door 2.2l on 2040-cars
Fairfield, New Jersey, United States

It's time to sell my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT. I purchased this car in 2010 when it had 137,000 miles. It now has 218,000+ miles and is still running strong. I planned to keep driving this car for as long as it was running, but I need a newer car for my job (I bought another Pontiac).
I have been the owner and only driver for the past 80,000+ miles. I have been extremely happy with this car. Recent repairs: All new front brakes (pads, rotors and calipers) - new brake fluid too - 6/30/14 (just last month) Exhaust - Engine to Catalytic Converter (including new cat) - 1/25/13 Oxygen Sensors - 11/9/12 Alternator, belt, battery - 5/22/12 Ignition Control Module, coil, Spark Plugs 4/5/12 Oil just changed I have receipts for everything. I can provide receipts for oil changes...although, when you hear it run you will know it is a very well maintained car. Some good things worth mentioning: I drive 80% highway/ 20% city - I always get 30mpg - 400mi per tank of gas (about $45) Clutch is very strong ABS Brakes work great in the snow and rain Inspection good thru December 2014 AC is very cold Radio, CD and speakers are all in good working condition Drives straight at all speeds It has the 2.2L, DOHC EcoTec Engine with a 5 speed manual transmission. A few issues worth mentioning: The interior fan has 3 speeds (low medium and high). Medium and high work perfectly - low does not work. Front tires are 40% rear tires are 10%. Check engine light is on sometimes and off sometimes. The code is a vacuum leak, but this has been smoke tested and there is no leak. It will pass private inspection. Clearcoat started to peel off the roof. This was sanded and painted black. Exhaust has a little rattle. The car is parked at my work on Route 46 in Fairfield NJ - you are welcome to come take a look anytime (weekends too). This is an honest sale of a great car; you can bid with confidence on this Sunfire. Winning bidder will be given the opportunity to take it on a test drive before making final payment. With the exception of the items listed here, I believe this is the best 2002 Pontiac Sunfire you will find anywhere. I am so sure you will be pleased with this car, if after your test drive, you don't agree this has been listed accurately, I'll be happy to re-list it for another buyer. You won't be disappointed! This is a no-reserve auction. Dealers are welcome, but this car will only be sold thru this Ebay auction - winner gets it! Thanks for looking! |

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial
Sat, 16 Mar 2013
The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
