Up for sale is my '98 Mercedes C43 AMG, white with the Black with blue inserts interior.  I've owned it just about 3 years now.  Great car but I travel extensively now and recently bought a truck to run to the airport and let sit outside instead.

Car had 101K when I purchased it 3 years ago.  Only repair item has been a new waterpump, belt and idler/tensioner pulleys around 115K.

Tires at 113K.  New front pads recently.  New front rotors when I purchased the car because MD Inspection said they were "too thin".  Paint is excellent. NO RUST! Not a bit.  Interior is 9/10 only because the headliner is sagging on the sunroof cover.  Otherwise, all leather is 100% and carpets are excellent and doorpanels are perfect.  Comes with a set of original AMG floormats but the driver's one is pretty shot so I haven't used them.

Car had the optional Cellphone which I have removed and comes with the car.  I also replaced the factory radio with a Clarion Unit with Bluetooth.  Original radio comes with the car and OEM CD Changer is still in the trunk.  Clarion head unit is still running through the factory BOSE audio system.

Engine oil changed regularly and only Mobil 1 Zero weight oil is used and Mahle filters.

Body is perfect (for a '98 - not counting a couple little paint chips here and there) with the exception of the front bumper.  I hit a small animal on the way to the airport about a 1 1/2 years ago and the "bow" insert popped out and is gone.  cracked some of the supports but not visible unless you are on the ground.  I recently put in a row of LED lights on each side in the space that my kids gave me for Christmas.

Only two issues currently -
1) the sunroof opens but does not close.  I think it's the motor or connection to the motor.  I don't use anyway.
2) the knob is off the passenger door.  Its in the glove box and doesn't affect operation of the locks.  I happened when my wife was using the car with the kids so maybe they pulled up on the lock and it stripped off. I think the door needs to come off to relocate it and I haven't taken the time since it doesn't affect the locks.

Awhile ago I recorded a run from Zero-120 to show that it accelerates properly and, based on the rough numbers, I'd say it's pulling the same numbers as stock.  Engine runs great.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.

Twin-turbo Cadillac CTS coming

Brabus to storm Geneva with 800-hp version of Mercedes SL65 AMG

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

At no point during our recent drive of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG did we ever think, "You know, this thing sure is slow." After all, Merc's range-topping SL comes fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 capable of sending 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. But just in case you're still all "meh" about what the SL65 throws down, Brabus will gladly come to your rescue with this, the 800 Roadster.
As its name suggests, the 800 Roadster ups the V12's power figures to 800 horsepower and - wait for it - 1,047 pound-feet of torque. Don't get too excited, though - that torque number has been electronically limited to a measly 811 lb-ft since, you know, the transmission would probably explode if you tried to put the full force through it. Nevertheless, these represent increases of 79 hp and 73 lb-ft over the standard SL65, and that means the 800 Roadster can shoot to 62 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds - two-tenths of a second quicker than the Merc its based on. More impressively, hitting 124 mph takes just under 10 seconds, and the droptop will finally top out at an electronically limited - limited! - 217 mph. Holy smokes.
To manage all of that speed, Brabus has engineered a special carbon fiber aero kit that reduces lift, and a unique control module for the SL65's active body control suspension lowers the ride height by one full inch. The 800 Roadster rides on new 20-inch wheels, and a unique limited-slip rear differential was added, featuring a 40 percent locking rate that further enhances performance when you're attempting to control the beast at its limits. Interior upgrades include new leather and alcantara surfaces throughout the cabin, including a leather-clad trunk.
