1986 Mercedes Benz 560sel on 2040-cars
Hennessey, Oklahoma, United States
1986 Mercedes Benz This classic car needs a good home and someone who knows how to give the proper tlc it needs. The car runs and drives fine, but idles really fast in neutral, and park(around 1800 rpm's), and holy moly does it have a lot of power never thought those older kind of cars ran like that. tires are in really good condition plenty of life left in them and tags are up to date. Not everything is working on this car, most everything that's not working seems to be an electrical issue, but the car is complete as you can see in pics.
Things I know that work Electric windows, horn ,5.6l engine, trans, lights , blinkers, wipers, gauges, heater blower motor, front electric seats and heaters, rear seat heaters, sunroof is sticky and hard to open and close so I just keep closed.
I know the back seats are supposed to move but I don't know if it is a motor or power issue, radio not working, the a/c still has pressure in the lines and clutch is not frozen,so don't se why couldn't get into working order. I don't know a lot about these vehicles so instead of spending tons of money trying to fix something that probly cost a few dollars I decided to sell to someone who knows what they're doing. please ask Q's if any , I will try to answer as best to my knowledge as possible for as I am not a import kind of person, just love the expensive looks they have. |

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
Chris Harris and David Coulthard wring out a Mercedes Fintail at the N"urburgring
Thu, 17 Oct 2013If there's one thing we've learned from the latest video from Drive, it's that the combination of Chris Harris and David Coulthard will produce some very quotable moments. Take this exchange, for example.
DC: "We are by some way the slowest."
CH: "But we're in a class of three cars, apparently."
Volvo S60 Polestar concept plays in the snow with Mercedes C63 AMG
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Chris Harris took to a snowy stretch of tarmac to get a fingertips-on-the-wheel feel of the Volvo S60 Polestar concept. Harris says the turbocharged sedan with 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque - and a manual transmission - is "a study to see if Volvo can get back into the fast-car market." The Polestar S60 concept, one of which was already purchased for $300,000 by a private buyer, is still making the publicity rounds because even Volvo's Chinese owners realize that, as Harris says, "Volvo sold more cars because it made fast cars" like the old 850 T5 Wagon that stormed the British Touring Car Championship in the 1990s.
For reference, Harris compares the blue wonder to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 487 hp and 442 lb-ft. The question is, were Volvo to get the price of a production version of the S60 Polestar to climb way down from its 200,000-pound sticker, could it be worthy competition to the established giants?
You can watch Harris divine the answer via a lot of drifting through the snow and a drag race in the video below.
