Fantastic Running
I bought this car to get me through last winter. It is fantastic in the snow. Stops great, and has plenty of power. It has always been a local SUV that was sold and serviced out of the same dealership. The original owner was a local insurance agent that would get one of these every 2-3 years. He took very good care of it, and kept it in the garage. When he traded it in on his next one, the owner of the dealership's daughter drove it and cared for it in the same fashion. Needless to say, anything that was ever an issue or concern was dealt with immediately by the dealership. Just to give an example, GM had a recall on this 5.3 engine with the cylinder deactivation as it switches to 4cyl mode to save gas at cruising speeds. With her connection, it got a complete overhaul with GMs modified oil baffle that the recall took care of. This was done at 129,244 miles. The current engine runs just like new, and burns no oil. I was told that the old one did not either, however, the recall paid to have this service done. When I purchased it from the dealership, I had them run me off a 3 page maintenance record showing what was done at what date and mileage. None of the owners were smokers, and the truck was never used as a work vehicle. It is in great shape for the age and miles. The interior has no odors, and is very clean. The truck is loaded up with Leather heated seats, Digital Climate Control, AM/FM/SAT 6 Disc Changer with MP3 port (BOSE), Steering Wheel Controls, All Power Options. It is switchable 2WD/4HI/4LO. Currently, the vehicle has one of the Park Assist Sensors in the back that needs replaced... It still seems to work. The A/C is also not chilling. I have not taken it in for that. The paint is in great shape, the metal is in great shape for its age. Being a Northern Mi Truck, it has a little bit of rust that you can see if you look closely at the pics... Just needs to be touched up. It drives perfectly straight, and brakes just as well. You will not be disappointed with it. If you have any specific questions, just ask. It is ready to drive anywhere! |

2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL hit the floor at LA
Thu, 21 Nov 2013The middle child of General Motors' trio of truck-based SUVs, the GMC Yukon and long-wheelbase Yukon XL, received their auto show debut at today's 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Showing off a bigger, bolder look, particularly on its Denali trim, the Yukon sports prominent chrome grille instantly identifies GMC's new top-end SUV.
The Yukon is will come to market with a pair of engines. The base 5.3-liter V8 pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, while the higher-end models benefit from the same direct-injected, 6.2-liter V8 as the Escalade. That engine makes 420 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, with fuel economy seeing a likely boost thanks to an active fuel management system. Like the Tahoe, Suburban and Escalade, the Yukon takes advantage of a six-speed, column-mounted automatic transmission.
The cabin has seen significant upgrades in terms of materials and technology, with an eight-inch touchscreen display and IntelliLink standard in both Yukon and Yukon Denali. Fold-flat second and third-row seats come standard, while a power option is available, as well. Other techy features include active noise cancellation and standard Bose stereos.
GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
GM confirms 2015 Silverado, Sierra to get 8-speed automatic
Fri, 18 Jul 2014When viewed alongside the next Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500, there is one thing that seems to be missing from the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Where the F-150 will rely on turbocharging and aluminum architecture and the Ram sports an eight-speed automatic and an air suspension, the General Motors twins lack a big, calling-card feature. They're very good, very refined trucks, but one could argue that they're not terribly innovative.
And while it might not be as flashy a feature as air suspension or a lightweight skin, the Silverado and Sierra will get their own eight-speed automatic for 2015, a transmission that will be paired with the company's Ecotec3 6.2-liter V8. The new cogswapper will also find its way into the GMC Yukon Denali, but for now, there's no indication why the Cadillac Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe and standard Yukon are being left out.
According to GM, the new gearbox is about the same size and weight as the current Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed. By the time the new powertrain combination enters production late this year, the EPA will almost certainly have gotten around to certifying the vehicles' fuel efficiency. Until then, feel free to speculate. The current Silverado with the 6.2 and six-speed auto returns 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway. How much do you think the eight-speed will improve those figures? Scroll down for the official press blast from General Motors, and then head into Comments.
