Silver Anniversary Edition Excellent Condition Runs Great Mostly Original Rare. on 2040-cars
Gladwin, Michigan, United States
I have a very nice SAE Bronco for sale. It is one of only 3000 made, they came in only one color and fully loaded. There was only a couple of options, one was the 5.8 L engine which this truck has, and I have seen one that had a grey cloth interior instead of the standard leather interior. There were a lot of firsts with this model; 1st year for leather interior, 1st year for color matched fiberglass top, 1st year for color matched body side moldings, 1st year for color matched bumper inserts front and rear.
This truck spent it's whole life in Florida until I bought it approximately three years ago and brought it to Michigan. It has never been driven in the salt, stored in a heated pole barn in the winter months. Exhaust: Shorty headers with Flow Masters and side exiting exhaust pipes. This vehicle had 96,000 miles on it when I bought it and it now has only 98,124 miles. Paint wise it is mostly original with repaint on hood and top due to sunburn. There is no rust underneath or in the body, it is as clean underneath as on the top. The interior is excellent the rear seat is original with one very small flaw, the front seats have been recovered and look great. It just had a complete carpet set installed and looks great. Headliner has been replaced. All plastic door panels, side trim panels are in great shape. The bed liner trim on the tailgate is just velcroed on to protect the tailgate paint from damage. I also have a cut down S10 bed liner that will fit in the back with the seat folded up. This truck sat for several years before I bought it which caused some leaking issues . I replaced the oil sending unit, resealed the dipstick tube and replaced the valve cover gaskets. It also had a small leak at the transmission front pump seal. I added some Lucus transmission additive and it seems to be slowing down the leak, but I just don't drive it enough (less than 1000 miles a year) so it hasn't been driven enough to give the additive a chance to seal the leak. All three moveable windows need new inner and outer felt seals (Dry rotted) This truck comes with a lot of spare parts most of which are specific to the SAE model. There are enough parts to fill a pickup bed. Extra dash board Extra center console Extra drivers seat (needs to be recovered) Extra rear seat (needs to be recovered) Extra rear side panel with interior light (Driver's side) Extra rear side window trim Extra rear glass with defroster grid Extra rear window motor and arms Extra front and rear floor mats with SAE logo Extra interior door trim panels Extra SAE badges inside and out Extra color matched body side moldings Extra rear bumper inserts color matched Extra tail gate stainless steel trim panel with reflector |

Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.
Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013
Sun, 15 Sep 2013When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.
Check out Ford's fully automated self-parking car [w/video]
Wed, 09 Oct 2013As automakers continue to find uses for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle technology, Ford of Europe has announced that it is developing a self-parking system for future use. More advanced than the Active Park Assist already offered in many Ford products, the new Fully Assisted Parking Aid can take full control of the vehicle and can navigate angled and perpendicular parking spots.
While today's Active Park Assist can only parallel park with the driver controlling the gas, brake and gear selection, Fully Assisted Parking Aid can operate steering, gas, brake and gear selection all while making sure the car is properly parked in the intended space. As with APA, the driver pushes a button to make the car look for a proper spot (at speeds of up to 18 miles per hour), and when an adequate space is located, the operator pushes another button (either inside the car or outside via remote control) for the car to park itself - the button must be pressed throughout the whole parking maneuver. Even though Ford says that the car can effect gear selections on its own, the system must still start from Neutral, and the automaker isn't saying whether the car can put itself into Park when done or put itself in Drive when the operator is ready to go.
Ford is also taking the opportunity to announce its new Obstacle Avoidance technology. This automated system is able to detect objects - including pedestrians - in the road, warn drivers of said objects and, if needed, stop and steer automatically to avoid hitting the obstacle. Both systems are still in the prototype phase, so there is no word as to when we could see either on a production vehicle.
