I purchased this Suburban new from Community chev in Cedar Falls Iowa  on 06/07/2005. I bought the car for family vacation use only, I have 11 cars. I have driven this Suburban from Iowa toArkansas every summer and to Washington D.C. several times, almost all of the only 18,000 miles are highway miles. This suv has almost never been outside unless being driven. It is kept on a car lift in my storage garage. This is a one of a kind Suburban. It is virtually like brand new. The vehicle has never been damaged or touched up. The leather driver seat shows no wear, the car still smells brand new. The carpet and floor mats look brand new as well. I looked at the 06 Suburban when I bought this one but hated what chev did to the 3rd seat, this seat is plush and very comfortable this was the last year for that style of 3rd seat.. I think the sticker was close to 50k on this car. I have changed the oil and filter every 3k and had the car greased. This Suburban has been trouble free and never to  a dealership for any kind of repair. I will list most of the options below. Please call me if you want more pictures or info. You can call me at 319 830 3194 .My family needs are changing, 3 of my daughters are now gone to college so I just dont need this car any longer. It has never been offered for sale before. I can store the car for 90 days for free if purchase but you must give me $1,000.00 non refundable deposit. Please dont bid unless you are sure you want this Suburban. I have the clear title in hand.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.

Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. You can check out the full press release below. You can also read the full study on the Consumer Reports site, or scroll down for a short video recap.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
