Please read entire description before bidding. for PICKUP only, no deliver, Columbus, INDIANA, 47203 zip.

Auction ends on Saturday September 20th at 6:40 PM. set a reminder in your phone if you are serious about this one.

reserve is set to $4000 because if you part out the motor and transmission you get that out of it, plus there is the massive flatbed, front bumper, wheels/tires, rear axle, etc.

This is a 2wd Chevy 2500 HD duramax diesel. Has massive front bumper with 2" receiver, really nice, solid flatbed with toolbox on passenger's side, grey work-truck style interior.

See the pictures, there is some tree sap on the hood, I got some of it off, all of it will easily come off if you scrub it for 15 minutes. There is some black road tar on the passengers side. I got some of it off, again, it comes off with scrubbing. The truck is not clean, sorry. It will clean up much better. it is also missing the driver's side front black fender flare (seen on passenger's side, I do not have the driver's side trim piece that goes there, sorry).

The CD player works. the batteries are strong, the tires are 80+ percent. There is a gooseneck ball under the flap in the bed. It looks super heavy duty. There are plenty of balls on the back of the bed. All the lights work.

This truck was parked immediately when it started running rough. It has been sitting for 1 year. I add a couple of tables spoons on oil every month and start it to keep the batteries charged. I let it run for ~30 seconds and cut it off.

This truck runs but it runs rough. After diagnosis from a professional diesel tech, it needs an injector. He stated that the duramax's with LB7 motors usually need injectors. #3 injector is not operating as commanded. When he used his computer to shut this injector off, it sounded the exact same. When he shutoff the other injectors, it sounded different and we could tell injector #3 is out. He stated that I may as well replace at least the bank of 4 injectors on that side with the glowplugs ($1500, includes parts and labor, factory 100k warranty Duramax LB7 injectors), but it would be optimal to replace all 8 injectors and be good for at least another 100k miles.

tires are in excellent shape. 1 rust through spot on Driver's quarter panel. See pictures and ask any question you may have.

From Oklahoma, really minimal rust for the year. P.O. states injectors were replaced 30k miles ago.

2wd Allison auto transmission shifts well.

interior needs a good cleaning, driver's seat has a hole.

I have another diesel 3/4 ton truck and am selling this truck as is.

pickup in zipcode 47203, Columbus indiana.

this truck also needs a driver's side motor mount and 1 piece of rear brake line installed. (I have the line).

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
