Attention all you Snow Plow Companies, Farmers, and Pappys that need a short truck (regular cab) with raw power (8.1L) and want one that looks brand new (1-Owner, 94k, Mint) and don’t want the cost of a new one ($13K). I have here a locally owned truck that was well cared for and is in great shape and ready to be put to use and quite a unique compilations of options (Regular Cab, 8.1L, Allison, 4X4, LS Package). Read on for a full description.

Mechanically this truck is very solid. 8.1L Vortec motor starts up smooth with no hesitation or funny noises. Transmission shifts great and the fluid looks and smells good. Handles nice on the road, no shimmies, shakes, pulling or brake pulse. It has Uniroyal 8 Ply tires that are wearing evenly and have 70% tread left, It also has had a set of Bilstien shocks not to long ago. There are no leaks on this truck, engine and transmission and rears are all dry. No rust anywhere on the body including the rocker panels, frame is clean and was undercoated from when it was sold new. Truck domiciled in southern Maryland so not much if any salt exposure. Mechanically you will be very satisfied with this GMC truck.

Cosmetically this truck is the same condition, nice and well cared for. Nice paint that shines well and is very straight and clean. A few small scratches and some stone chips on the front edge of the hood is all you will find for flaws. This is a very nice example of a well cared for pickup truck. The interior is well above average for the year and mileage. The seats, headliner, dash, door panels and carpets are all very nice. All options are working inside, cruise works well, a/c is ice cold, all power windows work well. Smells like the pappy that previously owned this truck smoked a pipe once in a while, I just had the interior and exterior detailed but it still has a slight smell inside that should work its way out in a few weeks.

I think you will be hard pressed to find another truck that is optioned like this, has low mileage and is in impeccable shape, then let alone find it for $13,000. Considering this combination I believe it’s going to be a hot seller. If interested in calling me my name is Travis, 717-991-8991. I have a clean and clear PA title in hand and ready to sell.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.
