Dual electric fans on Painless Variable Speed Fan Controller. 160 degree thermostat, new GM water pump with Fan Control thermistor tapped into water pump. New Tuff Stuff High Output Alternator (Black Powdercoat)

Triple gauge A-Pillar pod with Prosport Premium Boost/Vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, and Innovate G3 Wideband gauge (LC-1 Wideband permanently installed into truck)

There are many more items to list, but I will make this to the point. The truck was built to run 12 second 1/4 miles at our 5,000ft elevation and still be totally street/daily drivable, it runs 11's at sea level. This truck can be driven daily (although the exhaust is a bit loud the way it's run), the truck is tuned completely safe (11.2:1 AFRs without Meth, 10.5:1 with Meth) so even if the meth tank runs dry or something fails, the engine is not in any jeopardy or at any risk of detonation. The truck runs great, it's faster than most fast cars on the street. Averages 12.5mpg city and just over 16mpg highway.

The truck is tuned with HP Tuners (unlocked) and is currently running on Speed Density with a custom 2-bar OS on a GM 2-Bar MAP sensor. There are two DTCs tripped due to not having a MAF sensor plugged in. This is required in order to force the ECM to revert to Speed Density tuning. The Check Engine light is not light up on the dash and the truck does pass smog in the state of Nevada, but depending on the state the buyer lives in, there may be some tuning work that needs to be completed to make if fully smog compliant elsewhere.

Exterior is in great shape, there are some sand/rock chips in the front bumper skin, a couple minor scratches and dings, but I have kept the paint in great condition otherwise with full correction using all Adam's Detailing Products (I am a professional detailer)

Interior is clean and well cared for. The driver seat has very minor crease marks in the leather, which is normal for any vehicle, but for its age, this vehicle is in great shape. It has the Bose single CD system with 6 speakers and the factory subwoofer.

Drivetrain is in excellent condition. Tires are at 50% or better, brakes are pretty much new, e-brake recently adjusted at the shoes inside the rear axle spindle, diff fluids recently replaced, transfer case fluid flushed, engine oil changed every 6 months (way less than 3,000 miles). In 4 years, the truck has only been driven about 10,000 miles. The Precision Industries Vigilante torque converter that was originally installed cracked the hub snout and took out the pump in the transmission two weeks ago, so the transmission was completely torn down, cleaned, refreshed, new GM pump installed with all of Finishline's Level 5 goodies and a new Yank Pro Truck 3200 torque converter was installed. So the entire transmission is NEW!

Electrical is completely stock in the stereo/audio department. The truck was given a batter relocate to the factory dual battery location on the passenger side of the engine bay up against the firewall. We did a complete "Big Three" grounding upgrade with all 4ga welding cable with all soldered and heatshrunk ends. Truck will come with a brand new Interstate Mega-Tron Plus battery as the Optima Yellow Top is on it's way out (NOT PICTURED in engine bay photo).

Here is a video of it running at Sacramento, CA back in 2008 before we made the final round of modifications.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
