Very Nice Customized 1992 Chevy Silverado 1500 Full Size extended cab 4x4 Lifted Monster Truck from Georgia. It has the original 350 Engine and Automatic Trans -runs and shifts good, 4x4, COLD AC and Cruise Control. This Truck was professionally built some years back with some serious time and money invested to make it one of a kind which eventually made its way into 2007 Truckin Magazine. This is an older build and showing some age in some areas mainly from being driven daily. Some of the highlights in the build included an 8" Body Lift, chrome step bars, Aluminim Rims with 38" Tires, Custom Body Mods cowl hood, roof dam, Fender flares & Nice Paint-Black w/Gold&Blue flames, Custom Diamond Plate in Bed with chevy emblem and lighted Roll Bar. What sets this truck apart is the totally awesome hydraulic controlled articulating truck bed: it can be raised up/down/ and tilt-side to side-all controlled from cab, interoir is gray, clean and pretty much stock with a nice radio built into center console with equalizer, amp and subwoofer under the back seat, wood grain wheel and an alarm system.Truck draws attention whereever I go. Currently mechanically the truck will need a few items fixed: Replace leaking power steering pressure hose, Brakes-Front Brake Calipers(noticed seaping fluid when pads were changed) and possibly Master Cylinder-Brake pedal is spongee - It is drivable, light bar needs re-wired. I bought the truck last year out of Georgia saw it and had to have it so I flew in and drove it back 750 miles to Michigan with no issues and have been pretty much driving it daily since. This has been a great truck for me and I got a ton of comments at the local woodward cruise in Detroit last year..now its time to sell...I'm not interested in any trades of any kind!.. Please make sure you have the money BEFORE you bid...Serious buyers that are interested can contact me at Cell:# (586) 596-0346 if your local and want to come an check it out or have questions. Thanks for Looking!

2014 Chevrolet Silverado tows in new configurator, microsite
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.
Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
