Thanks for checking out our auction on this very acceptional Black on Black Chevy SSR.This SSR has the most sought after performance upgrades available :Dyno Tech headers,Magnaflow exhaust,GM PP L92 Heads,Offset intake rockers,Crane pushrods,Crane cam and puts out 440 HP with Dyno sheets on hand and at a cost of over $8k.This SSR runs and drives excellent with a substantial amount of power and torque over stock. The front of the SSR was lowered with Eibach springs and shocks on all four corners for a perfect stance. This SSR has always been maintained to a strict schedule and all the performance mods where done at 50k and strictly done for the fun of it and never raced or abused in any way.The SSR is in great shape in and out and sounds amazing with everything in proper working order. The SSR is in excellent shape but does have 63k miles and sold as is so do not expect it to look brand new and there are some blemishes please look at the last pics where i am pointing carefully. The only things that need to be adressed the rear deck lid shocks are getting weak they hold the lid up but seem week, the top of lid could be repainted, the a/c fan intermittently makes some noise on fan speed 1 and 2 but the a/c still blows ice cold. This SSR is sold as is but please take time to read our feedback and bid with confidence and these pictures where just taken.Transportation is the responsibility of the fortunate new owner we will assist any way we can with storing and loading.Florida residents must pay 6% sales tax and tag or transfer,no dealer fees, thanks for looking and good luck!!

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
