1966 Chevrolet C20 3/4 Ton Pickup on 2040-cars
Mesa, Arizona, United States
This 1966 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup has been well maintained over the years. Equipped with a 350 V8, 4 bolt main, original SM465 manual trans, front suspension and rear axle have been upgraded with front disc brakes and newer rear axle with a 4.11 gear ratio (swapped from a 1985 Chevy Suburban). New brakes, new 2 row racing aluminum radiator w/ 16"elec fan, new power steering pump, power brakes, new alternator, new high flow water pump. Interior upgraded with high back bucket seats (driver side is a power seat). Has original HO72 3/4 ton axle in the truck bed and will be sent with the truck. Truck has a heavy duty, locking tool box mounted in the bed. Original wood bed is under plywood overlay. (updated pics showing the tool box will be posted as soon as possible, just installed yesterday). Arizona truck, but due to my daughter moving home to Illinois at the end of June ( she just graduated from ASU) we just changed the title over to an Illinois title. Truck has no rust, runs and drives strong. Hoping to sell while it's still in Arizona, otherwise we will transport it to Illinois and keep it in the family. The truck is currently located in Mesa,Arizona 85201. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, but we will be available to assist in loading if a transport company is supplied bu the buyer. This truck is fully operational and can be safely driven cross country if desired. On Jun-08-14 at 05:10:14 PDT, seller added the following information:

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
