THE MILES THAT READ ON THE ODOMETER ARE THE MILES THAT HAS BEEN PUT ON IT SINCE ITS RESTORATION. THIS TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES DOWN THE ROAD PERFECT WOULD NOT BE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. EVERYTHING IS NEW THAT IS IN IT DOWN TO THE NEW INTERIOR, NICE NEWER PAINT (DOES HAVE A FEW BLEMISHES BUT NOTHING TO BE SCARED ABOUT), BRAND NEW CLASSIC COHKER WHITE WALL TIRES, NEW WIRING, FRESH ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION OVERHALL, AND ALL NEW CHROME AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES. THIS TRUCK WAS RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE BESIDES THE COLOR WHICH LOOKS OUTSTANDING. THE ORIGINAL FOOT STARTER IS IN WORKING CONDITION AS IS EVERYTHING ELSE IT EVEN STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL OIL AIR BATH BREATHER. I FORGOT TO GET A PICTURE OF IT BUT IN THE GLOVE BOX IT HAS A CD PLAYER IN IT.THE TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH WHAT I BELIEVE IS THE 243 INLINE 6 WITH A 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
