Rare find, original 1955 Chevy 3600 (3/4 ton heavy duty) long bed step-side pickup with NAPCO 4 wheel drive package ready for restoration. I was told that this was a forest service truck that had the correct period 1955 Napco 4 wheel drive package installed (as evidenced by the front axle driven on driver's side) then relegated to farm duties. Government agencies were typically the only ones who could afford it back in the day as the NAPCO package cost as much as the truck did).  This truck also has the rare "working" Power Take-off option controlled by the "Spicer" knob on dash. It appears to have all the correct original Napco emblems and plates installed on the dash and fenders etc. Even has original style "foot pedal" start. Truck runs and drives but motor needs complete exhaust and tune-up (pops on deceleration of motor). Drove it into town for ID/OD with a gas can under the hood. "Really", not street-able without restoration, but can be driven onto truck to avoid winch charge. This tired old truck is a very rare find and will obviously require a thorough restoration to bring it back to it's former glory and prestige, but will return on investment.  Comes with open signed South Dakota title. This is the real deal.

Seller requires immediate PayPal deposit and complete payment within 7days. Funds must clear before truck is released. Please do not bid if you are not going to complete auction.

Last two pictures #23 & #24 are of comparison vehicle only and other vehicle (Blue 57 Chevy truck 4x4) is not for sale or included in this auction.

Good luck, High Bidder gets it!

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]

Mon, 27 May 2013

If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...

Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
