This is my 1950 Chevrolet 3100 truck.  It drives as good as it looks.  I have driven it on the local expressways, back roads, main roads and to the Florida Keys and back with out any issues.  It does fine even when I am stuck the wonderful Miami traffic.  The truck rides very smooth and is easy to drive.  The truck cruises highway speeds perfectly.

It has been modernized with a 12 volt system and wide white wall radial tires.  The tires are close to full tread.  The brakes are the original type that were rebuilt before I started driving it.  The brakes function properly.  The steering and suspension are the stock type and function properly.  The engine is the durable 235 inline six cylinder which is backed up by a 3 speed manual transmission that is a column shift.  The engine makes good power and does not smoke.  It has Fenton split exhaust manifolds and raspy loud dual exhaust. The transmission shifts smooth.  The clutch operates well too.  The torque tube and differential are also in good working order.

The body is very nice and straight.  The red paint is a 8 out of 10.  Its does has some chips as I do drive the truck.  The exterior chrome emblems and trims are new.

The bed is custom made and looks great!  It was done well as shown in the pictures.  It is nice and strainght and has a great shine.  It also has a custom made black canvas snap on cover.

The glass is new.

Clean Florida title in my name.  Garage kept.

The only bad points of the truck are 1. speedometer does not currently work...needs to be cleaned.  2. Fuel gauge does not work.  3. Wipers work slow.  I bought a electric conversion, but have not installed it yet.

Sold AS-IS.  You are welcome to come see the truck.

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.
