We have a 1971 Chevrolet Nova SS Tribute for sale. This is by far one of the nicest Muscle Cars I've owned. This car was restored in 1995 and has 4,312 miles on since restoration. It was caught in the rain once and only for 5 minutes... In the driveway. I was told when we purchased this car that to the best of their knowledge; this car has never had rust on the body or underside. They installed a new from GM Performance, LS6 Crate engine which is a 454 with 450 horsepower @ 5600 RPM''s. It has forged aluminum pistons @ 10.2:1 compression ratio, solid lifter flat tappet camshaft, rectangular port heads, open chambered. It had a 850 Holley with a GM LS-6 winters Aluminum Dual Plane Intake. Transmission is a Competition built Turbo 400, B&M Holeshot 10" Convertor, which stalls @ 3200 Exhaust is through Hooker Headers, 2-1/2" Aluminized Pipes leading to Flow Master mufflers. As soon as this car starts, you can instantly tell it means business. The engine runs exceptionally smooth with no hesitation, shifts very firm through a Hurst Ratchet Shifter. Rear end sports a 12 bolt with the bolt through cover and a 4.11 posi unit...(very quiet) The body on this car is arrow straight and the paint is show quality. I was told the paintjob took 3 days paint, blocking and color sanding... It shows!! The engine compartment shows well with braided lines, chrome alternator and valve covers along with the air cleaner and master cylinder cover. The firewall and inner fenders are paint matched as well. Interior is 90% new and beautiful which includes the $1,000 aftermarket dash by Classic Dash and sports all Autometer gauges including a digital speedometer. This car drives tight, goes straight and is extremely strong... This is by far not your average Nova... The previous owner traded a fully restored 68 Camaro Convertible, numbers matching AND a restored 65 Mustang for this car. The Camaro ended up being traded for a car which sold for 32,000 and the Mustang was a quick sale @ 7,500. This gives you some sort of an idea of the quality of car this is. The previous owner also stated that over 35,000 was spent on this car. HIGH Dollar paint job.
Recently, I installed a complete MSD ignition system and MSDs new ATOMIC ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION. What a beautiful addition. Not only is the fuel injection electronically controlled but we also have this set up for the Atomic to control the timing. This thing runs amazing and is a complete self learning system. No laptop or know-how needed to set this up. It has a handheld controller to change any settings you like. I can step outside in the 20 degree temperature range, reach in and fire the Ole' Girl right up. Runs extremely smooth and Ive always ran this engine on 93 Octane pump gas.
We also recently installed new front disc brakes, complete set-up from "Right Stuff". We did the upgrade to include a new chrome booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve. The upgrade also includes drilled and slotted rotors and RED powder coated brake calipers, the complete windshield washer set-up, new front and rear sway bars, glove box lamp, under hood and trunk lights, industrial strength battery and Caltrac traction link bars.
The heater, turn signals, wiper set-up, horn, key buzzer, brake lights, reverse lights all work as they should. Rear aluminized tail pipes installed in factory location.
This is a very, very clean straight Nova which runs very strong. I have had many muscle cars which I've had to the track and I would guess this car to run in the mid to low 12s the way it sits. This car ONLY has just over 4,300 miles on it since its restoration in 1996-(18 years)

**WE DO NOT NEED ANY ASSISTANCE SELLING THIS CAR**

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4

Wed, 29 May 2013

Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
