Do you want to turn heads everywhere you go? Attract a crowd at your local cruise in?  This is the car for you.

1970 Nova Pro street 406 big block, turbo 400 with reverse valve body, 150 shot of nitrous.....this car is not for the faint at heart!

Narrowed 12 bolt 4.56 posi with Strange axles

Kirkey style seats with harnesses

Auto meter gauges with a Monster tach

Hooker headers, Holley Carb, MSD Ignition, Weld Wheels

Front Disc Brakes...list goes on and on

This car started life as a small block SS 4spd car.  Still has the SS speedo with tach in the dash.  Car still has the original 1/4's (tried to show the numbers in the attached photos).  Rear glass is tinted to hide the 6 point roll cage.  NOS system (never used), Optima red top battery and fuel cell in trunk.  Battery shut off mounted behind rear license plate. 2" fiberglass cowl hood with locks instead of pins (had to get used to them, but they are great)

I know I am forgetting a lot about this car, but it is a great car.  Always draws a crowd wherever it goes, thumbs up going down the road.  If you want to be the envy of your cruise in, this is the car for you.

Almost forgot....Runs on PUMP GAS!!!!!!!!!!!

Reason for selling.  I have had this car for a few years and time for a change....(no room left in garage, wife says, one must go before another comes in...HA HA)

Car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Thank you for looking!

Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. You can check out the full press release below. You can also read the full study on the Consumer Reports site, or scroll down for a short video recap.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
