1969 Chevrolet Nova 540 Merlin Big Block 850+ Horsepower Powerglide 9 Inch on 2040-cars
Belpre, Ohio, United States
1969 Chevrolet Nova SS Car has never been on a drag strip, It has only been a street toy that I've taken to the local car shows. VIDEO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TPZZHGexP4 Hit the buy it now and I'll throw in a Gopro camera with mounts and remote!!!!!!!
This 69 Nova has been a very fun part of my life but its now time for it to be sold. I have decided to move on to another project and I am out of room, so this car has to go. It's "not" a real Super Sport Nova It just has the emblems. It started life as a 6 cylinder power glide car plain jane. The car's body is very low mileage. When I had the title put in my name, the state of ohio required a vehicle inspection and since the car has aftermarket gauges and didn't show original mileage, now the title show's odometer discrepancy. NOW ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!!!!!!!! Its a nice car, it has original floor boards, original trunk pan, original doors, It had the quarters and fenders replaced, It has Detroit Speed mini tub kit installed, professional installation. Very nice! looks like stock inner wheel wells. It has a Monsterous Merlin BIG BLOCK 540 and it is the meanest street car that I know of in my area. It's 850+ horsepower and the car hooks up surprisingly well on the street with the current Mickey Thompson drag radials. It will put a smile on your face every time you drive it!!!!! Here's a list of goodies on the car..... Engine 540 Merlin -(Engine is 5 years old and was only driven 3-4 times per year) 540 Merlin pro-mod block, billet mains, 4340 rotating assembly, very nice cloyes timing set with easy access billet timing cover, Fluidamper, Jegs deep oil pan, Melling racing oil pump, Top notch machine work and balancing. THIS ENGINE WILL NOT DISSAPOINT!!!!!! -Merlin III heads and intake -14.5 to 1 compression (race fuel only) -1150 dominator carb -Solid roller cam, triple valve springs, shaft mount rockers(engine is speced to shift @ 7400rpm but I have the rev limiter set at 7000rpm) -Fuel system leave's plenty of room to grow (nitrous can easily be added) The fuel pump is a Aeromotive A2000 (2500hp capable) with fuel cell and 10AN fuel feed line, Holley billet regulator -MSD billet distributer, MSD 6AL-2 with two rev limiters, MSD super conductor wires -Huge 4.5x16 inch K&N air cleaner with extreme top -Aluminum BeCool radiator, electric fan - Transmission Power Glide, 5000 stall, Trans Brake, manual valve body, New Hurst Quarter stick, Large B&M plate trans cooler, After market large yoke to except 1350 U joints, Custom built driveshaft 3.5 inch Rearend 9 inch Ford, 3:90 gears, Spool, mark Williams axle's, Brakes & Steering Quick ratio steering box, power steering, Hydro boost power brakes, Factory front discs, after market rear discs, All new pre-bent stainless brake lines Suspension QA1 coil over adjustable front shocks, offset shackles, lowering rear leaf springs, competition engineering slide-a-link traction bars, sub frame connectors Interior New comfort grip steering wheel, refurbished tilt colomn, New procar seats, new carpet, original door panels, original rear seat, original head liner, original dash pad, original pillar trim. Overall the interior is extremely nice for having so many original pieces still intact. wheels & tires Tires are almost new front and rear. The rear tires are 295/55/15 Mickey Thomson drag radials on 10 inch weld wheels. Front wheels are 6 inch weld wheels. This car could easily have a protouring look with just a simple wheel change. But on regular radials it is insanely over powered!!!!! You've been warned!!!! LOL |

Chevy Traverse, Hyundai Santa Fe revealed; Buick Envista, BMW M4 CSL driven | Autoblog Podcast #790
Fri, Jul 21 2023In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor John Beltz Snyder. After some banter, including the discussion of an excellent tomato sauce recipe, they get into car reviews. Greg has been driving the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53, while John has been testing the BMW M4 CSL and Buick's new Envista crossover. There's lots of interesting news this week. Chevy revealed the 2024 Traverse with new looks, a new engine and on off-road(ish) trim. Hyundai gave us a glimpse at the wild styling of the next Santa Fe. Dodge might bring back the Stealth nameplate as an SUV, and that has implications for the Durango as well. Ford, after repeatedly raising prices, has turned around and significantly discounted the F-150 Lightning across all trims. The first Tesla Cybertruck has rolled off the line as a pre-production prototype. Finally, we reach in to the mailbag and help a listener decide what to do with cars for himself and his kids in this week's Spend My Money segment. Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series
Thu, Apr 9 2015Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.
