Up for bid is 1966 Nova V8 Super Sport Red on Red factory four speed rolling chassis with a 12 bolt 355 posi rear end. This is a true 118 V8 SS car that is virtually rust free. This Nova retains its original floors, trunk, fenders and doors the only panels that have been repaired are the right rear quarter which was replaced with an NOS GM quarter and the left rear quarter has been repaired other than that it is all original sheet metal. This car was on a rotisserie and the underside has been sprayed with 3M body Shultz. The Nova has all new brake lines, fuel lines , rubber hoses, wheel cylinders ,shocks, as well as a rebuilt front end and new master cylinder. The outside is repainted the original Red color with base coat clear coat. The car has new Bumpers, wheel well moldings, rocker panel moldings as well as new 327 emblems ,flags and Super Sport emblems. All of the weather stripping has been replaced as well. The interior has been redone with a new headliner ,carpet , door skins and seat covers from PUI. The car sits on stock wheels and new tires. The windshield is new but the rest of the windows are original and do show signs of pitting due to someone blasting the car with the windows in it at one point in its life but they are not terrible I would use them. New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
