I'm selling my 1979 Chevy Malibu Custom. I purchased the body and frame out of the center of Texas. There is not a spec of rust on the car. I dropped a brand new 350 crate motor in it punched it 30 over and threw 202 port and polished heads on it. One stage over cam and a Eldbrock fuel injection conversion kit on it. I replaced the v-belts with a March Performance serptine conversion belt system to clean up the front of the motor. A 350 turbo transmission with a shift kit, and a Ford 9" rear end with 3.55 gears. All brakes have been converted to Wilwood 4 piston disc brakes all the way around. Custom interior to match the exterior paint. DVD with navigation, at car shows I have played a slide show of the car being built with back ground music of that era. It has placed top 10 in two local car show. I bought the car with a little over 97,000 on the chasis which is when I put the new motor in (motor done by Story Motors) since then the odometer has lapsed to just over 900 mile. I have put less then 5,000 mile on the car since I have restored it 6 years ago. The car has been appraised by a local car muesum at $26,456 and is insured for $27,000. Feel free to ask questions. Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
