Here is good driving and good looking 1966 Chevy Impala powered by a 427 Big Block engine that runs great. No smoke or unwanted noises of any kind. It has a new Aluminum Radiator to keep it running cool. It has what looks like new headers. Very clean and nice engine compartment. It features power steering and power brakes. The Big Block is connected to a 400 Turbo transmission that shifts out good. This car is a two tone Teal and White and looks really nice. The body is straight. The doors close good and all the lines look good. The front bumper looks good but the back bumper looks original to the car and shows some age. It''s not bad but not as good as the front bumper. The paint has a good shine to it and I would rate a good 7 out of 10. It''s above driver quality but not show quality. It has a couple small bubbles on the bottom of the trunk lid on both sides.(see pics) The interior is green and in good condition. The column shifter has been moved to the floor with a B&M Ratchet shifter. The speedo and gas hand work as does the Auto Meter Oil , Temp and RPM gauges. All lights works including interior lights, headlights, tail lights, blinkers and brake lights. Added The undercarriage is very solid with rust not being an issue at all. Floor pans look good. The trunk needs the mat taken out and sprayed with splatter paint. We will do this. It has brown spots under the mat from moisture. It has a spare tire. The tires are 225/60/15 and plenty of tread left on them with Rally Wheels. GREAT DRIVER!!

I reserve the right to end this listing early if car sells locally before the end of auction. It is being sold AS IS with no warranty given or implied in anyway. Pre Sale inspections are always welcomed and encouraged!! AWESOME DRIVING CAR!! Don't Miss It

WE WERE TOLD WHEN WE TRADED FOR THIS CAR THAT IT WAS A 427. ACCORDING TO THE NUMBERS ON THE ENGINE ITS SHOWS TO BE A 454 ENGINE. I DON'T WANT TO MIS LEAD ANYONE. I WENT BY WHAT I WAS TOLD WHEN LISTED. DON'T KNOW WHY THIS WOULD MATTER. A 454 SEEMS TO ME LIKE IT WOULD BE BETTER. ANYWAY JUST MAKING THIS CORRECTION.

Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4

Wed, 29 May 2013

Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
