I am selling a 1963 Chevrolet Impala for a friend of mine, who bought the car 3 years ago, for a lot more money than he's asking for it. He's in the service and travels alot and never uses it. The engine is a 350 Chev that has been rebuilt and runs very nice. Has automatic 2 speed powerglide transmission. Has power steering. The suspension appears to have been gone through nicely. There's a brand new set of rear control arms that need to be installed. Exhaust looks very nice. The frame and floorboards are in excellent shape. Trunk floor is in good condition with some very minor surface rust. The car is from Georgia and the body is in great shape with very minor bubbling in paint on the top where the roof meets the quarter panel (see photos). We put a magnet all over the car and it stuck on everywhere so there doesn't appear to be any bondo or at least--very little. Needs to be painted. There is a dent in the hood (see photo). Has 17x8 torque thrust II polished aluminum wheels and very nice tires. Interior is in very nice conditon. Headliner is nice. Basically just needs to be vacuummed and Armor-Alled. Has factory AM radio and an additional underdash mounted AM/FM CD player. Dual antennas. Fender skirts. New front and rear brakes. The car rides very tight and solid. Has a clear title. Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.

GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
