1965 Chevrolet El Camino Custom.  This 1965 El Camino has the original 283 Cubic Inch V8 and Four Speed Floor Shift.  It runs and drives and is currently registered. All of the lights, including the turn indicators, work as they should.  The horn works and the car can be driven.  I have a clear Utah "Original Title" in my name.  The El Camino comes with two spare tires on original rims. It has a new exhaust system and the motor runs and sound good. Please look closely at all of the photos.  The body has rust and will need substantial body work. This is a "no reserve auction." If you bid $1000.00 and no one else bids, you will own the El camino.

I want the new owner to know exactly what they are bidding on.  With this in mind, I will try to clearly list the negative issues with the El Camino. 1.  There is rust in the rear quarter panels, rocker panels and floor.  I have taken photos of these problem areas, but some of the rust has been covered with after-market chrome panels. Two El Camino catalogs come with the car and have the replacement panels listed. 2.  The interior is tattered and needs replacement. The bucket seats currently in the truck are from a 1966 Mustang.  The original bench seat was replaced with the mustang seats. Again the interior is available in the catalogs. 3. There is a small amount of rust in the bed, but it is not critical. 4. The rear bumper has some rust issues as well.

If you have less the 10 positive feedbacks in your Ebay feedback score, please call me at my home (801) 745-0599, or email me before bidding.  I want this to be a good, straightforward, auction.  The buy now price is under the true value of the car, but I need to sell.  Good luck bidding, and don't hesitate to give me a call.  I'm not a dealer.  I have too many projects and I need to sell several of my projects.

2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video]

Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
