This auction is for a beautiful 4LT, 2008 Corvette convertible.  The color is Arctic White, with Linen (off white) and ebony interior.  This is a rare combination as only about 350 of these were made.  The car has just about all available options including power top, windows, and seats.  This Vette has Heads Up display 6 speed automatic with paddle shift. The interior is leather with heated seats w/ memory.  The sound system is Bose.  XM radio, Onstar, CD changer, and Navigation are included.  The top is in perfect condition and has a real glass window in the rear.  The engine was replaced last year under the GM warranty due to a gulp of water probably from ethanol.  This was a complete new 430 HP lt3, not a short block.  The catalytic converter was also replaced with the engine.  The engine has a separate warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles.  The car itself has a year and a half of GM extended warranty remaining on the entire car with NO deductible.

The tires were just replaced with Hankook V12 Evo's.  This is the best tire I have ever had on my Corvettes.  It improves the ride greatly.  These tires are mounted on the original chrome aluminum wheels.

I am the 2nd actual owner.  The car was repossessed by the bank from the original owner.  There was some damage done to the nose when the Repo company dropped the nose of the car.  It was repaired beautifully by the Auto Sport shop in Orlando.  I have the original clear title.  Having owned several Corvettes, this is the nicest riding one of them all.  The alignment and balance were checked with the tires and are perfect.

This a beautiful car in great condition and draws praise from everyone who sees it.  I can answer all questions.  I do have the history of the Equifax report.  Please email or call 315 783 5218.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
