1978 Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition, this is a running, driving project sold at NO RESERVE ! This Corvette has a 350 engine with a automatic transmission. The car runs and drives good but does need some work, the engine is a rebuilt non matching numbers 350 with a tag on the block showing 0.30 over and does NOT smoke or leak but could use a tune-up. The interior is in fair condition, seats are good and the carpet is faded but not ripped and the door panels are good as well, the t-tops are missing the inner panels but are not hard to find. Both the headlights go up and down but need some work, the doors open and close good and the windows roll up and down fine. Looking under the car, the frame and suspension appear to be in good condition. As seen in the pics, something fell on the car damaging the hood and fender also breaking the windshield but the windshield has been replaced with a new one. The tires are good and the brakes may need some work as the car sat for a few years, also the ac compressor is missing. The car also has a cd player and a tilt and telescoping steering wheel. This is a factory blue car and is one of the more rare colors. Also the speedometer is in kilometers so i am assuming this is a Canadian car. Please keep in mind that this is an old car and is going to need some tinkering but is an over all good car to restore that does not appear to have been abused but just neglected. Please feel free to ask any and all questions and please be ready to purchase the car and have a shipping company in line as to not delay this transaction. Car is for sale and for shipping within the U.S only and also reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is for sale locally. Thanks for looking and happy bidding !

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
