The rest:
This car was built to be an efficient, powerful, reliable daily driver that you could beat up on the strip for fun.  I built this car in 2008 and been driving it ever since.  I’ve put over 35K miles on this combo since then.  Its current combo has ran a best of 11.26@118MPH with a 1.59 60’.  The tune I run on it makes approx. 600hp at the crank (475RWHP) and about 1000ft lbs of torque.  This is the same tune I run every day, to and from work, to and from my kids school, softball practice……… anywhere.  It’s also the same tune we ran the 11.26 on………….  Just change the tires and it’s on.  This is a proven street car, daily driver, race car, commuter car, attention getter………….  Anything you can imagine, this car has it.  It gets 30+ miles to the gallon with this same tune up, if you even breathe on the throttle it will light up the rear tires.  This is a clean tune 475RWHP (no smoke!!!) has been chassis dynoed, mid 11’s, 30+MPG commuter muscle car that you can drive anywhere you want and get fuel at any fuel station in the world.  There is nothing like this on the planet.  Only a few have been able to accomplish this feat, literally only 3 that I know of with a Chevelle, but none perform this well on the strip.
This car has been in Diesel Power, Diesel World and Chevy Hi-Performance Magazines multiple times.  It’s had multiple online articles in Chevy Hardcore, Diesel World and Powerblock.  It’s currently on the Hughes Performance Webpage and has hundreds of thousands (100k+) of hits on YouTube, key words duramax chevelle, diesel chevelle, diesel car, triple threat racing.  This is the car featured on Facebook Triple Threat Duramax chevelle.
Folks I love this car, it’s part of my family.  My kids love this car, my wife tolerates this car, lol and I am the Diesel Chevelle man.  But life has a way of making changes for you.  It’s time to make some big changes and selling this car is the first step in making some big dreams come true.
Good luck happy bidding and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
My name is Rick and the car is located in Northern Ca.  Shipping is negotiable.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
