VIN: 136370A158627 and the VIN plate matches the title. I have a hard clear title in hand.

TITLE: I do have a clear title in hand and the VIN matches, we work out of my garage, but we have used car dealers license to keep things legal, the car will be sold from me as a dealer.

History: I can't tell you much about the history. The title states last registration was in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The title is now Ohio, the car just went to Ohio from Kentucky on 7/22/13.

MILEAGE: 8990 reading on the odometer now, I'm sure it is not correct because the instrument cluster has been changed, the car should have came with a Malibu sweep type cluster and it now has a round gauge type like a Super Sport.

UP FRONT discloser and time saver!!!!!!!!!! This is a good looking car, I consider it solid, it drives and stops good, it has very nice chrome, the engine runs good and the transmission shifts good.  Its just a nice drive and enjoy quality car, its no new car, its no perfect show queen, "its just a nice car for a good price". It was not born a real Super Sport with a 454 engine, it has been up-graded and changed. Picture make it look like a near perfect show car, it is nice, but not as nice as the pictures. If your looking for a good looking drive and enjoy quality car, this may be it, if your looking to buy a new and perfect show queen get ready to pay a lot more money.

WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM:  My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, TennesseeAthens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 67 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 41. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam.  I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American.  I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 43 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE!

WILL I SELL THE CAR OFF EBAY MOTORS? Yes, I'm not crazy, I know the most of you are not registered on ebay and use it as a research tool.

MY REAL PRICE IS $18,999 That's what it takes to buy the car on or off ebay motors, you dealers wanting to resell have to pay the same. I have been doing this for a long time and I know the game, I don't play it the same as most and I sell every car I put for sell.

PLEASE NO TRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Thank you, but I will not trade, why should I trade when I have a hot selling car, I don't need motor cycles, boats, jewelry or your used false teeth.

I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!!!! I worship on sunday, I spend time with my family and I rest. I'm doing this because I love it, "I need a day off". I will be happy to show you cars 6 days a week, call in advance to set up a time, "I'm 67 years old and life is more than just cars".

Sorry, but I do not do videos. I'm old and don't want to learn and mess with them, I sell my cars anyway.

IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS?    The underside looks good, but not sanded smooth and detailed for show. The frame, supports and bottom panels all look very good to me. The car has no real thick under coating so you can see the floors good, the back floor have been patched on the bottom, look at my pictures.

IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE?  None that I can find and the title states none.

WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR?     I’m a retired mechanic/auto-mechanic instructor/was a Army helicopter mechanic and instructor. When I find a truck or car I like for a good price I buy it fix things and resell for a fair profit. I did not restore this car, I just fixed a few things.

IS THIS A MATCHING NUMBERS CAR? No, the engine casting number on the back of the block is 361959, this is 454 cubic inch 1973 up for a few years.

PAINT:    The paint is very shinny, the car is straight when you look down the sides, the panel fit is pretty good, the doors close pretty good, no dents, I think there is even a ding. The top looks bad, some places has some soak through places in the right light, this is where they put the paint on too fast or too heavy and it soaks through the primer and causes a chemical pop. The top really needs repainted, but it would not bother a lot of people.  In the right light I can see where the right quarter panel has been put on. The hood and sides look good and the places will not show up in a picture. The paint looks good to most people, I'm critical and telling your everything you can not see. To make the paint very good the top needs repainted.

CHROME:      The chrome and bright work all looks good to me, the bumpers have no dulling and no rusty pits. The emblems are good, the front fender emblems say 396, but the engine is a 454, you can change them easy you don't like them.

INTERIOR:   No smoke smell, the seat covers are good, the carpet good, the door panels good, the headliner good (it is not original material and has a tiny punched hole, the dash pad is nice..

RADIO: Empty hole, put what you like in.

UNSERSIDE:    Solid, but not painted shinny to put mirrors under at the car show. I think the floors are original, but the back bottoms have been patched.

GLASS:    The side glasses roll up and down good and look good, the windshield good with 1 1.5 inch wiper mark, the back window has several sand marks.

ENGINE:    Engine runs very good, its a 454 cubic inch with casting numbers 361959, it has a 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor and is very clean, it has no real bad leaks, no knocks or pings.

EXHAUST SYSTEM:  Dual exhaust in extra good condition, the mufflers look and sound like Flow Masters to me, the tail pipes turn town just behind the muffler.

TRANSMISSION:   Its a Turbo 350 that shifts good.

REAR-END:     It has no bearing noises, no growls, its a 10 bolt, I have not checked the gearing, but its just right, you can drive it on the road, it no crazy low ratio.

BRAKES:  Good with a power booster, dis on the front and drums on the rear

STEERING:   The cars drives very good, it is power steering.

WHEELS AND TIRES:      Rally wheels that are in nice condition, the tires are not radials, they look good, but do not ride good, I would put new tires on, but these are usable.

LIGHTS:     They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, dome light not working, turn signal and high beam indicators work on the dash, dash night lights are not working.

GUAGES:   Gas gauge works and the others are in a pod under dash and work.

WIPERS WORK! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! The dash cluster was a sweep type and now is a Super Sport round type.

HEATER: Past owner was going to put in Vintage heat and air so the inside heater box is not in the car, it has a heater core with the hoses hooked up, but no box under the dash. The out side box and fan are in place. "If you are not going to put heat and air on the car you will have to do some work.

HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE and panel fit?    I think the doors fit and open very good, the hood and trunk fit good for the year.

WOULD I DRIVE THE CAR HOME ON A LONG TRIP: I never recommend driving a old car home, I just test drive them and drive them some around town, but I do think this car would drive anywhere.

DID I RESTORE THIS CAR? No!

TO MAKE IT SUPER CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your getting a drive and enjoy quality car that things have been changed on, its not a new car, its not a $100,000 show queen, its a good looking car outside, inside and under the hood. Its a very fair price, 1970 Super Sport Chevelles are crazy high. I will have not problem selling this car, most guys would ask at least $25,000 at car show, if you come inspect it like a driver quality you will be very happy, if you come inspect it like a show queen you will find the things I told up above. I like for people to come inspect, beware of buying from pictures, you can be fooled real fast. My price is fair and real.

WHY DON'T I FIX EVERYTHING: It runs the cost up and I have too many projects.

TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard!

**************I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY AND I'M HARD TO GET ON THE PHONE, PLEASE EMAIL ON SUNDAY!**************

The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information.

CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day.

     cell    423-506-8987     email:  dreamcar@live.com

PAPERWORK: I know what to do! WE DO NOT HAVE A SHOW ROOM WITH OVERHEAD! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many.

THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the vehicle “come look”.

I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET.

WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED:  The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of  Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights.

US OR EXPORT "Nations Auto Transport" is located in the Kansas City area: This is a good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas.

Call Jim Page....his work number is 816-295-6887 and his email is jpage@shipnat.com

MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40,  so transport is usually very fast.

PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take this by PayPal, but not full payment.

Option 1: Pay the old school way with green face to face.

Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the most checks clear, I have had

a fake bank certified check.  I will take a bank cashiers check with lots of

identification and advance notice so I can check you out.

Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a

member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire

transfer. I will not give out my banking information until I get your information.

INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 66 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but lots of them do not impress me at all, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself.  I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first, I will not stop the listing and wait for a inspector!

TRADES: Please no trades!

I do not finance cars! If your going to finance, get pre-approved.

BOTTOM LINE:    My price is really $18,999, I am firm and asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down, but I don't like that game. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down.

PLEASE!!!!!!   PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle.

Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it!

Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place.

I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY if you don't come and inspect the car.

Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info.

Thank You,

Ron Watson                  cell: 423-506-8987        email: dreamcar@live.com

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
