We are selling our 1969 Chevelle Malibu. We put a new 350 Crate motor with a mild cam and 4 barrel carburetor in the car about 3 years ago. The motor currently has 7800 miles on it. We installed a new gauge cluster with the motor and the miles read true and correct with motor. All the gauges on the dash work great. We stalled a Muncie 4 speed manual transmission when we installed the motor. The transmission and clutch work flawlessly. The paint was done prior to us buying the car so it is an older paint job with a few chips showing. Overall a good condition car. The rear end has 3:54 gears with posi. The rear end is a 12 bolt. The car is an AC car with the parts there as you can see in the picture, we just never finished hooking up the AC. The car has power steering. CD player mounted in the glove box and two 6X9 in the back. The car needs a few small details in the interior to finish her off to make her a great driver. Seats and dash are in great condition. The rally wheels are in great condition and tires are about 6 months old. This car gets looks everywhere I go. The car has no rust from what I have found. The floor boards are original, the trunk is in great shape.

I have described the car to the best of my ability, I am no mechanic so the car is being sold as-is. I would not hesitate to drive this car across country.

The buyer is responsible for all shipping fees and arrangements. The car will not leave my house until the funds have cleared through my bank.

I will accept all types of payments but they will have to clear first, and if paying by paypal all the paypal fees will be added to the buyers total cost.

The car is also being advertised locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime. I am also open to any offers you may want to send me.

I have made a video of the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btE3GACEqTg

I am happy to answer any and all questions because I am sure I have missed something in my description. The car will be listed with a more than fair reserve price. Thanks

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
