1969 Chevelle Malibu Convertible

This car has front disc brakes, power windows, power top and, air conditioning.
Project car needing complete restoration. Car has been primered to protect it from further damage from the elements.
The driver's side rear was in an accident with a prior owner. The frame is not damaged. In my opinion the rear pass quarter should be replaced however a good body man might find it repairable. The rear bumper and left tail-light are not fully attached rather held on with a few nuts so you can see the rear and side with the parts propped on.
The underside of the car has surface rust from being stored over grass. For demonstration I took wire wheel then 80grit sand paper to a small section on the underside then sprayed with rust converter then black paint --see pictures.
There is some minor rust through on the floor pan, two spots about the size of a fist. Please review the pictures closely.
The engine has not been started since I owned the vehicle. As you can see the engine still has all parts and accessories intact. I don't like project cars that have been gutted for the next guy to piece back together.
Spare parts include an extra passenger door and a header panel that is in excellent condition.
The mechanical parts on the convertible top work well. The power top motor/pump and lines are intact but not tested.
I do have a 454 builder engine that I will offer to the buyer for a separate but discounted price if interested.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
