1989 z24 convertible, 80's survivor, very few produced.  This car stickered for over $17,000.

I just bought this for my wife, but she won't drive it because it is a stick shift! My loss is your gain, this car drives great and has no rust. The top and interior are in really great shape.  The exterior has been repainted and really shines, but it does have some door dings that were painted over when it was painted a few years ago.  The original owner was an engineer and really took care of this car and documented all repairs and maintenance, always garage kept.  Also included is the original window sticker and build sheet, which he laminated!  Has original GM floor mats and owners manual.
This is all stock, except for the wheels, which are off a Buick Skyhawk of the same vintage. Tires and brakes are good and it shifts fine.  Has all the power equipment and everything works except the a/c needs to be recharged.
I just replaced the fuel injectors and buffed out the paint.  Convertible is electric and it has a boot that you can put on it when it is down.  I tried to include many pictures to show the car completely. This car gets between 22 and 25 mpg.

I would prefer that whoever buys, this comes with the cash and picks it up in person, If you do not want to buy it when you get here, or it is not as you thought, I will gladly let you out of the deal.

You can call me with any questions, please do not email me, Thanks, Steve 815 341 5457

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
