Up for sale is a 2001 Camaro Z28 Convertible, Navy Blue Metallic with a Tan top and Tan leather interior, just over 130k miles. Overall in very good shape for age/miles. Was obviously well kept. I am the 2nd owner, I have a copy of the original title which I received when I purchased the car this spring, Original owners were a couple in their 70's and kept the car bone stock and you can see parts were replaced as needed and the car drives as so.
I've added black headlights and parking lights, an SLP air lid and deleted the muffler, I have a resonator as part of the exhaust but chose not to install it (TSP Rumbler), as well as the original muffler.
I replaced the Throttle Position Sensor, Transmission Mount, and the Electronic Brake Control Module. Car runs great, no lights on the dash, just passed NJ state inspection.
The interior is very nice, I replaced the passenger seat bottom as it had some rips in the leather and it appears the previous owner replaced the driver seat bottom. Door panels are good, carpet is good, all power options work as they should including the windows. AC is cold and all settings work.
The paint is good for its age/miles, my pictures will show the bad areas, passenger fender and rear bumper marks. The top is free of rips and tares, it does show some rub marks in the creases from when the top is lowered and stored.
There are a few minor issues left. The driver side floor mat is worn thru (original), the ash tray lid hinge is broken, but lid sits in place when closed no issue, the top is power and once in a while it needs a little extra push when lowering, and finally the fuel gauge will sporadically show empty and bounce back to the actual location, at random.

I've taken the car on 2 long distance trips this summer, just back from a 900 mile trip this past weekend and got a fresh oil change.

2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.
